2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST
HINT:
Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs and actuators and other items to be
operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because

intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests
early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while
performing Active Tests.
a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. Enter the following menus:
Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
d. Perform the Active Test by referring to the table below.

DESCRIPTION
The door control receiver receives signals from the transmitter and sends these signals to the main body ECU.
This DTC is output when the applicable RDA signal cannot be received within 1 second of the PRG signal

1. CLEAR DTC
a. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

2. CHECK FOR DTC
a. Check for DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
OK: DTC B1242 is not output.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH
TROUBLESHOOTING )
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
a. Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.
b. Disconnect the Q7 receiver connector.
c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
