2. INSPECT CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION
a. Check the skid control ECU connector connection condition.
OK: The connector is securely connected.
NG: CONNECT CONNECTOR CORRECTLY
OK: Go To Next Step
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY
GROUND)
a. Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.
b. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

c. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go To Next Step
4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ABS WARNING LIGHT)
a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
c. Turn the Techstream on.
d. Select the Active Test mode and operate the ABS warning light using the Techstream.

e. Check that the ABS warning light turns on and off in the combination meter when using the
Techstream.
OK: The ABS warning light turns on and off in accordance with the Techstream operation.
HINT:
When the ABS warning light remains illuminated, there may be an open in the wire harness of the
combination meter or abnormalities in the meter circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
a. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
TABLE ).

a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
c. Turn the Techstream on.
d. Select the Active Test mode and operate the ABS warning light using the Techstream.

BRAKE WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON
DESCRIPTION
If any of the following conditions are detected, the BRAKE warning light remains on:
1. The ECU connectors are disconnected from the skid control ECU.
2. The brake fluid level is insufficient.
3. The parking brake is applied.
4. The EBD system is malfunctioning.
5. The booster vacuum is malfunctioning.
6. The pedal stroke sensor is malfunctioning.
7. The pump is malfunctioning.
