HINT:
If the same (DTC C1439/66 and/or C1445/66) is not output again, the DTC may have been stored
due to a temporary loss of the steering angle zero point calibration, such as when the power source
voltage drops.

A: Go to next step
4. REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
a. Replace the steering angle sensor (See STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)
NEXT Go to step 5.
5. PERFORM STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
a. Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for at least 10 seconds.
b. Check that the centered position of the steering wheel is correctly set while driving straight ahead.
HINT:
If the front wheel alignment and steering position are adjusted as a result of an abnormal centered
position of the steering wheel, acquire the yaw rate and deceleration sensor zero point again after
the adjustments are completed.
OK: The centered position of the steering wheel is correctly set.
NEXT Go to step 6.
6. RECONFIRM DTC
a. Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
b. Start the engine.
c. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 36 km/h (22 mph), turn the steering wheel to the right and left.
d. Check if the same DTCs is output (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR).

ABS WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON
DESCRIPTION
If any of the following conditions are detected, the ABS warning light remains on:
1. The ECU connectors are disconnected from the skid control ECU.
2. There is a malfunction in the skid control ECU internal circuit.
3. There is an open or short in the wire harness between the combination meter and the skid control ECU.
HINT:
The Techstream may not be used when there is a malfunction in the skid control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
a. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
TABLE ).
Result
NOTE:
When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration
(See CALIBRATION ).
Make sure the skid control ECU is not in test mode before proceeding.
Before using these procedures, first check other DTCs which may cause
the ABS warning light to remain on.
