Standard Resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

NG: REPLACE FLOOR WIRE

OK: REPLACE DOOR WIRE LH

16. CHECK DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH

a. Interchange the door side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.

b. Connect the negative (-) terminal to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

c. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

d. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

e. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

f. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

g. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

h. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

i. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

j. Return the door side airbag sensor RH and LH to their original positions and connect the

17. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH

a. Interchange the side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.

b. Connect the negative (-) terminal to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

c. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

d. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

e. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

f. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

g. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

DTC B1800/51, B1801/51, B1802/51, B1803/51: SHORT IN DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT; OPEN IN
DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT; SHORT TO GND IN DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT; SHORT TO
B+ IN DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT

DESCRIPTION

The driver side squib circuit consists of the center airbag sensor, the spiral cable and the steering pad. The
circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when the deployment conditions are met. These DTCs are recorded when a
malfunction is detected in the driver side squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

B1803/51

When all conditions below are met:

The center airbag sensor receives a short circuit to B+ signal
in the driver side squib circuit for 0.5 seconds.

NOTE:

When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while
performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is
reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
