Techstream

Combination Meter:

TECHSTREAM COMBINATION METER SPECIFICATIONS

OK: Vehicle speed displayed on tester is almost the same as actual vehicle speed
measured using speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer).

NG: Go to step 5

OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (see REMOVAL )

5. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (WHEEL SPEED SENSOR)

a. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "DATA LIST" or "Data List" (see

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (see REMOVAL )

TACHOMETER MALFUNCTION

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter receives engine revolution signals from the ECM via the CAN line. The combination
meter displays engine revolution data that is calculated based on the data received from the ECM.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

a. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (TACHOMETER)

a. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "ACTIVE TEST" or "Active Test" (see

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (see REMOVAL )

OK: Go to next step

a. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "ACTIVE TEST" or "Active Test" (see

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

FUEL RECEIVER GAUGE MALFUNCTION

DESCRIPTION

The fuel sender gauge has a variable resistance mechanism. The resistance decreases when the fuel amount
increases, and the resistance increases when the fuel amount decreases. The fuel receiver gauge changes based
on the resistance of the fuel sender gauge.
