INSPECTION

INSPECT VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a
Install a clean hose to the ventilation valve

Inspect the ventilation valve operation

Blow air into the cylinder head side, and check that air passes through smoothly

Blow air into the intake manifold side, and check that air does not pass through smoothly If
operation is not as specified, replace the ventilation valve
CAUTION: Do not suck air through the valve.
Petroleum substances inside the valve are harmful.

Remove the clean hose from the ventilation valve
INSTALLATION

INSTALL VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a
Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads

Adhesive:
Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

Install the ventilation valve
Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf)
HINT:
After applying the specified torque, rotate the ventilation valve clockwise with the port faced in the
direction indicated in the illustration
