c. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

a. Install the air cleaner case with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

b. Install the air cleaner element onto the air cleaner case.

c. Install the air cleaner cap.

1. Fasten the 4 hook clamps.

2. Connect the MAF meter connector.

3. Attach the wire harness clamp.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

a. Install the No. 2 ventilation hose and vacuum hose.

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

a. Install the air cleaner hose.

Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)

HINT:

Make sure that the clamp band end is aligned with the limit mark when the hose clamp is tightened,
as indicated by A and B in the illustration.

b. Connect the vacuum hose.

c. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

4. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Install the throttle body cover with the 2 cap nuts.

Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT IGNITION TIMING

a. Warm up and stop the engine.

1. Allow the engine to warm up to a normal operating temperature.

b. When using the Techstream:

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

2. Start the engine and idle it.

3. Turn the Techstream main switch ON.

4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine and ECT/Data List/Primary/IGN Advance.

HINT:

Refer to the Techstream operator's manual for further details.

Standard ignition timing:

8 to 12° BTDC @ idle (transmission in neutral and A/C switch OFF)

5. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.

c. When not using the Techstream:

1. Connect the tester probe of a timing light to the wire of the ignition coil connector for the No.

1 cylinder.

NOTE:

Use a timing light that detects primary signals.
