REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the 4 bolts of the rear No 3 engine mounting insulator

Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 4 plate washers and crossmember

REMOVE REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting insulator from the transmission

SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

Support the transmission with a transmission jack Lift the transmission slightly off of the
crossmember

INSTALL REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

a

Install the engine mounting insulator to the transmission with the 4 bolts

Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)

Install the frame crossmember to the engine rear mounting insulator with the 4 bolts

Torque: 16 N*m (63 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

Install the frame crossmember with the 4 bolts, 4 plate washers and 4 nuts

Torque: 110 N*m (1122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf)

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1

INSPECT IGNITION TIMING

a

Warm up and stop the engine

1

Allow the engine to warm up to a normal operating temperature

When using the Techstream:

Connect the Techstream to the DLC3

2

Start the engine and idle it

3

Push the Techstream main switch ON

4

Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine and ECT/Data List/Primary/IGN Advance

HINT:

Refer to the Techstream operator's manual for further details

Standard ignition timing: 5 to 15° BTDC @ idling (transmission in neutral and A/C
switch OFF)

Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3

When not using the Techstream:

Connect the tester probe of a timing light to the wire of the ignition coil connector for the No
1 cylinder

NOTE:

Use a timing light that detects primary signals.
