REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT:

All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with

their alphabet code below.

2. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the

battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice

before proceeding with work

.

3. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic

Steering Column)

(a) Disable the Autoaway/Return function by changing the customize parameter

.

NOTICE:

Record the above operation causes the Autoaway/Return function to be disabled when the ignition switch is

turned off.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON. Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering

column.

(c) Turn the ignition switch off.

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the

SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected

.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

7. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Twist the shift lever knob sub-assembly in the direction indicated

by the arrow and remove it.

8. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

(c) Using a moulding remover B, detach the 6 clips and remove the upper rear console panel sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 12 clips and remove the upper console panel

sub-assembly.

10. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover B, detach the 7 clips and remove the

rear console end panel sub-assembly.

(b) w/ Power Outlet Socket:

Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.
