Description and Operation
2.0 Duratec-HE (MI4)
Apart from a few changes, the 2.0L Duratec-HE (MI4) engine is largely based on the engine
already used in Focus 2004.75 (07/2004-) vehicles.
Key features of the engine include:
Direct ignition coils
Electronic throttle valve
Mechanical thermostat
Variable intake system with swirl valves
Dual-mass flywheel
Oil cooler
Changes over the variant last installed in Focus 2004.75 (07/2004-) vehicles include:
Exhaust manifold; the shape of the individual pipes has been changed to accommodate
the new position of the alternator.

coolant in the coolant expansion tank.
INSTALL a new oil cooler or oil cooler seal.
