1. Remove the hub. Refer to

Section 204-02

.

2. Remove the upper shoe spring.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (Continued)

3. Remove the brake shoes.

1 Remove the lower spring and adjuster.
2 Remove the shoe retaining clips.
3 Remove the brake shoes.

4. Release tension on the parking brake cable.

1 Compress the retainer.
2 Remove the parking brake cable from the

bracket.

5. Disconnect the parking brake cable.

6. Remove the parking brake linkage.

7. Remove the backing plate.

1 Drill out the two rivet heads.
2 Remove the three bolts.
3 Remove the backing plate.

Installation

1. Install new brake shoe retaining pins in the

backing plate.
