Removal & Installation (Expedition & Navigator)
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the spare tire. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the
fuel filler pipe remote vapor hose. See Fig. 137 . Disconnect the fuel vapor hoses from the Evaporative
(EVAP) emissions canister. Remove the canister assembly mounting bolts. See Fig. 138 . Remove the
EVAP canister bracket assembly.
2. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector. Place the EVAP canister bracket
assembly on a clean work surface. Remove the vapor connector sleeve. See Fig. 139 . Disconnect the
vapor hose from the EVAP canister vent solenoid. Remove the EVAP canisters. See Fig. 140 .
3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate all "O" rings with MERPOL(R) "O" ring Seal Lubricant
before installation. Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE .
