Chery A15. Manual — part 148

II. Filling Coolant

If a 400g coolant can is used, use coolant can opener (as the figure shows) to open the can in

the following steps:

(1) Counterclockwise turn the wing lever 1 before fiting the opener onto coolant can until

valve needle is retracted completely.

(2). Counterclockwise turn plate nut 3 then lift it to the highest position, and then tighten the

opener on the central bead of coolant can.

(3). Connect central filling hose of manifold pressure gauge with connector 5, and then

clockwise turn plate nut and tighten with hand.

(4). Clockwise turn wing lever 1 until valve needle 4 extrudes and penetrates a small hole in

coolant can bead.

(5). Counterclockwise turn wing lever 1, the coolant will flow into manifold pressure gauge

through filling hose.

(6) Clockwise turn wing lever 1 to the lowest position to reseal the coolant can. Do not

remove opener, otherwise coolant inside will leak out.

Coolant Filling Steps:

(1). Connect manifold pressure gauge and coolant can as shown in the figure.

(2). Counterclockwise turn lever of opener 2 to allow coolant enter central filling hose. Note

not to open manual valves on both sides at this moment.

(3). Loosen the nut of manifold pressure gauge central hose, and retighten it until white gas

coolant flows out and a “fizz” sound is heard, which indicates that air in central hose is

exhausted.

(4). Open high pressre manual valve 4 as shown in the figure, and turn coolant can 1 upside

down to fill liquid coolant into cooling system. Do not start air conditioning system at this

moment to avoid back flow. Add at least 200g of coolant each time, and manually rotate

compressor for several times after each filling.

(5). Shut high pressure manual valve 4 and open low pressure manual valve 3 as the figure

shows to allow gas coolant enter cooling system. The coolant enters from low pressure

manual valve must be gasified, for liquid coolant will cause liquid impact in compressor and

damage the unit. Shut low pressure manual valve when low pressure gauge reading reaches

2.8X105Pa.

Section Sixteen: Operation Instruction of Coolant Reclaimer

Reclaiming from Cooling System

Reclaim coolant drained from the system in following

cases with the reclaimer:

Before replacing parts on coolant pipeline;

When moisture or air enters coolant pipeline;

When excessive coolant is filled in.

低压备用阀:Low pressure service valve 回收机:Reclaimer
高压备用阀:High pressure service valve 制冷设备:Cooling system

Note:

(1). The reclaimer must be operated as per

requirements set in instruction book.

(2). The compressor oil drained must be measured

for volume after reclaiming to add equivalent volume

of compressor oil back into cooling system later.

油瓶:Oil bottle 排出机油量:Volume of drained compressor oil

Operation of Coolant Reclaimer

1. Connect manifold pressure gauge set with service valves.

2. Reclaim coolant in cooling system.

(1). Connect central hose with reclaimer.

(2). Operate reclaimer.

(3). Open high pressure and low pressure manual valves on manifold pressure gauge set.

3. Turn off reclaimer after reclaiming is finished.

4. Disconnect manifold pressure gauge set with service valves.

Section Seventeen: Safety Precautions

1. Do not operate with coolant in a closed place or near open flame.

2. Operator must wear goggles.

3. Be careful not to spill liquid coolant in eyes or on skin. In case of spill in eyes or on skin:

(a). Rinse contaminated parts with cold water

(b). Do not wipe eyes or skin

(c). Get medical treatment immediately

4. Do not heat coolant can or place it near open flame.

5. Handle coolant can with care and avoid impact with sharp objects.

6. Fill sufficient coolant in cooling system, for insufficient coolant will cause insufficient

system lubrication and damage to compressor.

7. Do not open high pressure valve of manifold pressure gauge when compressor is working.

If the high pressure valve is opened when compressor is working, back flow of coolant will

cause crack of coolant can. Only operate low pressure valve.

8. Do not overload the system.

9. If the engine cooling thermometer indicates overheated condition or the engine is suspected

of overheating for other reasons, please stop the vehicle to check. Turn off air conditioner to

prevent overheating of engine

10. To achieve optimal fuel efficiency, do not use air conditioner (if equipped) unless

necessary.

11. In case the engine is working in an unclosed environment for a long period, set the air

conditioner to external circulation mode to allow outside fresh air enter car compartment,

meanwhile set blower switch to high speed position.

12. Do not stay in vehicle with engine idling for a long period, nor leave children in the

vehicle.

13. Do not open trunk lid when the vehicle is running to prevent gases exhausted by engine

from entering car compartment. In case it is necessary to open trunk lid, please shut all

windows and set air conditioner to external circulation mode to allow outside fresh air enter

car compartment, meanwhile set blower switch to high speed position.
