3. Troubleshooting procedure

Possible cause

Reference maintenance scheme

1) Defected fixing of fault indicator light bulb
2) Fault of circuit to the ignition switch
3) Short circuit between the drive circuit and the power
source cathode
4) Fault indicator light bulb is damaged

1) Fix the bulb again
2) Repair the wire harness
3) Repair the wire harness
4) Replace the light bulb

Turn off the ignition switch and unfix the
A/C compressor relay
Turn on the ignition switch but do not
start the engine and measure if the power
source terminal on the relay socket has a
voltage of 12V.

Check if the circuit between the
compressor relay and the fuse suffers any
of the following:
• Ground fault

• Open circuit
• Short circuit to the power source

(anode)

Turn off the ignition switch, unfix the
ECM fittings and check if the control
circuit between the compressor relay and
the ECM suffers any of the following:
• Ground fault

• Open circuit

• Short circuit to the power source

(anode)

Fix the compressor relay and ECM
fittings.

Turn on the ignition switch, directly
ground Terminal 2 and see if A/C
compressor relay still works.

Turn off the ignition switch and check if
the control circuit between the
electromagnetic clutch and the
compressor relay suffers any of the
following:
• Ground fault

• Open circuit

• Short circuit to the power source

(anode)

Replace A/C compressor relay.
Confirm the replacement.

Replace engine control module (ECM)
Confirm the replacement.
