Check if idle speed actuator of idle speed stepper
motor is stuck (in case binding occurs in idle
speed stepper motor, this failure can not be read
from scanner, neither does it have failure code).

connections between water temperature sensor,
idle speed stepper motor and ECU are in good
condition.

Check the injector working condition of each

injector is working in good order.

switch, and then connect commutator between
ECU and wire harness to check the voltages of
intake air temperature and water temperature
sensor as well as ECU’s 54#, 62# pins (served as

Pull out idle speed actuator connector before
completion of warming-up to see if engine speed
changes (ECU-controlled fan rotates continuously)

commutator between ECU and wire harness,
and then check to see if the voltages of ECU’s
intake manifold absolute pressure sensor output,
intake air temperature sensor output, coolant
temperature sensor output, oxygen sensor output
pins and ECU output to idle speed actuator pins
are in good order.
