1). Engine dose not rotate or rotates slowly when starting

Check the voltage between two terminals of
accumulator with a multimeter to see if it is around
10-12.5V.

Turn ignition switch to “ON”. Check the voltage on
terminal of ignition switch connected to anode of
accumulator with a multimeter to see if it is around
10-12.5V.

Keep iginition switch at “ON”, check the voltage on
terminal to ignition switch connected to starting
motor push-pull coil with a multimeter to see if it is
higher than 8V.

Check starting motor with a multimeter to see if open
or short circuit occurs.

Check engine to see if it is stuck due to poor
lubrication (turn crankshaft with tool at belt pulley

or oil with proper

In case of cold weather, check engine lubricant and
gearbox oil to see if they cause excessive resistance to
starting motor (check engine oil viscocity to see if it

2). Engine rotates but fails to start when starting

Turn ignition switch to “ON”, and check with scanner
to see if there is any failure information recorded.

Unplug cylinder wire and connect spark plug to make
spark plug electrode 8-10mm away from engine
body. Rotate engine with starting motor and check to
see if there is blue or white high voltage spark
(notable spark does not prove that he spark plug is in
good condition, for the resistance value of the
atmosphere differs from that of compressed air in
cylinder).

Check resistance value of high voltage wire to see if
it is normal.

Check high voltage wire and spark plug of each
cylinder to see if they are damaged.

wire harness to see if it is damaged.

Connect fuel pressure gauge valve. Strap Pin 30 and
Pin 87 of fuel pump relay, start fuel pump and check
fuel pressure to see if it is around 350kPa.

Pull out fuel distributing pipe and injector together,
and unplug injector connectors from wire harness one
by one. Supply 12V voltage to injector directly from
accumulator and check if injector works.

Check fuel to see if it is deteriorated or contains

mechanical errors, such as excessive clearance

Connect fuel pressure gauge valve. Strap the 30#
and 87# pins of fuel pump relay to make fuel
pump work, and then check if fuel pressure is at
about 350kPa.

switch to see if the pressure of fuel system can
maintain between 250-300kPa an hour later.

with the interceptor, and at the same time, shut
down fuel pressure gauge valve. Also shut down
