No. 226 Oil alarm indicator is always on
Malfunction Cause
Solution
Insufficient lubricating oil
Check and eliminate oil leakage and fill lubricating oil
according to specification
Block of lubricating oil tube
Dismantle oil pressure sensor and insert a flat bar to internal
diaphragm of sensor. Open start-up switch, if oil pressure
gauge actuates normally, thus the lubricating oil tube is
blocked;
Oil pressure sensor damaged
Connect terminal of oil pressure sensor to bond strap with
wire, if the oil alarm is normal, then oil pressure sensor is fault
and may be replaced;
Break or short-circuit of connecting
wire for oil pressure alarm indicator
Check the break or short-circuit of connecting wire for oil
pressure alarm indicator with multi-meter and repair it;
Over-low oil pressure
Remove the fault according to diagnosis process in engine
section;

No. 227 Headlight is always on or not on
Malfunction Cause
Solution
Broken fuse for headlights
Check if fuse is broken and replace it if necessary;
Burn-out of headlight
Replaced burnt headlight
Headlight relay is broken
If fuse is intact, check if headlight relay is poor contact or
burnt off and repair or replace it according to condition.
Broken combined switch for headlight
Check combined switch for headlight; measure
conductivity of switch with multi-meter; if the resistances
are both infinite when switch is placed on either lower
beam or main beam position, thus the switch for headlight
is broken and should be replaced;
Broken harness or poor contact with
bond strap
Check circuits section by section to eliminate short-circuit
or break;
Burnt bulb or poor contact of lamp
holder
If fuse is normal, check if headlight lamp holder is poor
contact or if filament is burnt out and repair or replace it
according to condition.
Internal fault of centralized controller

No. 228 Weak running of starter
Malfunction Cause
Solution
Malfunction of battery
Check if the voltage of battery reaches to 12.5 – 12.9V, if not, charge or replace the battery;
Malfunction of harness
Check the connecting end of starter harness for fine contact, if it's abnormal, the starter harness
should be checked and repaired;
Check if the internal bearing bush of starter is over-worn and thus results in fractional drag
between rotator and stator and subsequent Weak running of starter; then bearing bush or starter
assembly should be replaced;
Measure length of internal brush of starter with vernier caliper; the standard length of brush
should be 15.5 mm and the minimum worn length is 10 mm; if the brush is shorter than the
minimum value, the brush or starter assembly should be replaced;
Check if the no load current of starter is smaller than 90A under 11.5V; if it's abnormal, then
starter assembly should be replaced;
Check the grounding situation of starter commutator; check connection between armature coil
and spindle with Ohm meter; it should be disconnected, if it’s connected, the commutator or
starter should be replaced;
Internal malfunction of

Check if the undercutting depth of commutator should be 0.60 mm and the minimum depth
should be 0.20 mm. if the depth is smaller than the minimum value, then the commutator or
starter assembly should be replaced;

Check if the crankshaft of engine can be rotated or if it’s run heavily, if it’s abnormal to cause

Check if the voltage of battery reaches to 12.5 – 12.9V, if not, recharge or replace the
battery;
Malfunction of
fuse
Check the fuse of starting loop for break and replace fuse if it’s broken;
Malfunction of
starter relay
Check if internal contacts of starter relay is conducting with power on, and replace the
relay if it’s broken;
Malfunction of
harness
Check the harness of starter for short-circuit or poor contact, if it's abnormal, the starter
harness should be checked and repaired;
Check if the coil of electromagnetic switch for starter is OK, and replace the
electromagnetic switch if the coil is broken;
Check the stator coil of starter for break or short-circuit, and replace starter assembly if
the coil is abnormal;
Measure length of internal brush of starter with vernier caliper; the standard length of
brush should be 15.5 mm and the minimum worn length is 10 mm; if the brush is shorter
than the minimum value, the brush or starter assembly should be replaced;

Check the condition of commutator: 1. Check with Ohm meter if it’s connected between
two commutators, and replace commutators or starter assembly if one of them is
disconnected. 2. Check the grounding situation of starter commutator; check connection
between armature coil and spindle with Ohm meter; it should be disconnected, if it’s
connected, the commutator or starter should be replaced. 3. Check if the undercutting
depth of commutator should be 0.60 mm and the minimum depth should be 0.20 mm. if
the depth is smaller than the minimum value, then the commutator or starter assembly
should be replaced. Check connecting condition of exciting coil: 1. Check with Ohm meter
if it’s connected between conductor and exciting coil brush, and replace starter assembly
if it’s disconnected. 2. Check the grounding condition of exciting coil; it should be
disconnected between end of exciting coil and magnetic pole armature frame measured
by Ohm meter, and replace starter assembly if it’s connected.
