Trunk Lid Latch Switch Test
1. Open the trunk lid, then remove the trunk lid inner
).
2. Disconnect the 6P connector from the trunk lid latch.
3. Check continuity between the No. 2 and No. 6 termi-
nals.
• There should be continuity with the trunk lid
opened.
• There should be no continuity with the trunk lid
latch in LOCK (trunk lid closed) position.

Function Test (Without Memory)
NOTE: Before testing, check the No. 19 (7.5 A) fuse in
the under-dash fuse/relay box.
1. Remove the driver's door panel (see
).
2. Disconnect the 10P and 2P* connectors from the
power mirror switch.

Mirror Test
One or both inoperative:
1. Check for voltage between the No. 6 terminal and
body ground with the ignition switch ON (II).
There should be battery voltage.
• If there is no battery voltage, check for an open
in the YEL/BLK wire.
• If there is battery voltage, go to step 2.
2. Check for continuity between the No. 7 terminal and
body ground.
There should be continuity.
If there is no continuity, check for:
• an open in the BLK wire.
• poor ground (G401, G402).
Left mirror inoperative:
1. Connect the No. 6 terminal to the No. 10 terminal,
and No. 5 (or No. 1) terminal to body ground with
jumper wires.
The left mirror should tilt down (or swing left) with
the ignition switch ON (II).
• If the mirror does not tilt down (or does not swing
left), check for:
— an open in the BLU (or YEL) wire between the
left mirror and the 10P connector.
— faulty left mirror actuator.
• If the mirror neither tilts down nor swings left,
repair the BRN wire.
• If the mirror works properly, check the mirror
switch.
Right mirror inoperative:
1. Connect the No. 6 terminal to the No. 9 terminal,
and No. 5 (or No. 8) terminal to body ground with
jumper wires.
The right mirror should tilt down (or swing left) with
the ignition switch ON (II).
• If the mirror does not tilt down (or does not
swing left), check for:
— an open in the BLU (or YEL) wire between the
right mirror and the 10P connector.
— faulty right mirror actuator.
• If the mirror neither tilts down nor swings left,
repair the BRN wire.
• If the mirror works properly, check the mirror
switch.
Defogger Test ('98 model):
NOTE: Before testing, check the No. 55 (15 A) and No.
13 (7.5 A) fuses.
1. Disconnect the 2P connector from the defogger
switch.
2. Connect the 2P connector terminals of the harness
side with a jumper wire, then turn the ignition
switch ON (II). The mirrors should warm up.
• If the mirrors do not warm up, check for:
— faulty gauge relay.
— an open in the WHT/RED or BLU/RED wire.
— poor ground (G401, G402).
• If only one mirror fails to warm up, check its
defogger.
• If both mirrors warm up, check for the defogger
switch.

switch position according to the table.
