connector from SRS side harness. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to left floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase
DTC memory. Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under
DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 21-8 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 21-8 is not indicated, replace left seat
belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect right seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS right floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Fig. 33 . Disconnect inflator simulator from left floor
harness. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between
ground and SRS unit connector "B", terminals No. 1 and 2. If voltage is less than 0.5 volts at both
terminals, replace SRS unit. If voltage is more than 0.5 volts at either terminal, replace floor harness.

DTC 21-9

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY under DIAGNOSTICS. Turn
ignition switch to ON position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning
light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Access and disconnect left seat belt pretensioner
connector from SRS left floor harness. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to left floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase
DTC memory. Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under
DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 21-9 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 21-9 is not indicated, replace left seat
belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect right seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS right side floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS
UNIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Fig. 33 . Disconnect inflator simulator from left floor
harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and SRS unit connector "B", terminals No. 1 and
2. If resistance is more than one megohm at both terminals, replace SRS unit. If resistance is less than one
megohm at either terminal, replace floor harness.

DTC 22-1

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY under DIAGNOSTICS. Turn
ignition switch to ON position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning
light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect right seat belt pretensioner connector
from SRS right floor harness. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to right floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase

DTC memory. Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under
DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 22-1 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 22-1 is not indicated, replace right
seat belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect left seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS left side floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS
UNIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Fig. 33 . Measure resistance between SRS unit
connector "B", terminals No. 3 and 4. If resistance is 2-3 ohms, replace SRS unit. If resistance is not 2-3
ohms, replace floor harness.

DTC 22-3

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY under DIAGNOSTICS. Turn
ignition switch to ON position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning
light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect right seat belt pretensioner connector
from SRS right floor harness. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC
memory. Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under
DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 22-3 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 22-3 is not indicated, replace right
seat belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect left seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS left floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Fig. 33 . Disconnect inflator simulator from right seat belt
pretensioner connector. Measure resistance between SRS unit connector "B", terminals No. 3 and 4. If
resistance is more than one megohm, replace SRS unit. If resistance is less than one megohm, replace
floor harness.

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY under DIAGNOSTICS. Turn
ignition switch to ON position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning
light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect right seat belt pretensioner connector
from SRS right floor harness. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC

DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 22-8 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 22-8 is not indicated, replace right
seat belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect left seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS left floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT

harness. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between

INSTALLATION. See Fig. 8 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07TAZ-SZ5011A) and SRS Inflator
Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC
memory. Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under
DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC 22-9 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 22-9 is not indicated, replace right
seat belt pretensioner.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect left seat belt pretensioner

connector from SRS left side floor harness. Access and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS
UNIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Fig. 33 . Disconnect inflator simulator from right
floor harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and SRS unit connector "B", terminals No. 3
and 4. If resistance is more than one megohm at both terminals, replace SRS unit. If resistance is less than
one megohm at either terminal, replace floor harness.

DTC 31-1

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY under DIAGNOSTICS. Turn
ignition switch to ON position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning
light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect left side air bag connector from SRS
floor harness. See Fig. 6 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07XAZ-S1A0200) and SRS Inflator Simulator
(07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC memory.
Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under DIAGNOSTICS.
If DTC 31-1 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 31-1 is not indicated, replace left side air bag module.
See SIDE AIR BAG MODULES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect right and left seat belt

pretensioners. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Access
and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See
Fig. 33 . Disconnect SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead. DO NOT disconnect simulator lead
from left floor harness connector. Measure resistance between SRS inflator simulator lead connector

terminals. If resistance is less than one ohm, check for poor contact between SRS unit connector "B" and
SRS unit. If connection is okay, replace SRS unit. If resistance is more than one ohm, replace floor
harness.

DTC 31-3

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY . Turn ignition switch to ON
position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning light goes off after
about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect left side air bag connector from SRS
floor harness. See Fig. 6 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07XAZ-S1A0200) and SRS Inflator Simulator
(07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC memory.
Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under DIAGNOSTICS.
If DTC 31-3 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 31-3 is not indicated, replace left side air bag module.
See SIDE AIR BAG MODULES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect right and left seat belt

pretensioners. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Access
and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See
Fig. 33 . Connect Short Canceller (070AZ-SAA0100) between SRS unit connector "B", terminals No. 9
and 10. Disconnect SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead. DO NOT disconnect simulator lead
from left floor harness connector. Measure resistance between SRS inflator simulator lead connector
terminals. If resistance is at least one megohm, check for poor contact between SRS unit connector "B"
and SRS unit. If connection is okay, replace SRS unit. If resistance is less than one megohm, replace floor
harness.

DTC 31-8

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY . Turn ignition switch to ON
position. If AIR BAG warning light stays on, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning light goes off after
about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. Check for intermittent malfunction. See
TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES under DIAGNOSTICS.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under

DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect left side air bag connector from SRS
floor harness. See Fig. 6 . Connect SRS Simulator Lead (07XAZ-S1A0200) and SRS Inflator Simulator
(07SAZ-TB4011A) to floor harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC memory.
Retrieve DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) under DIAGNOSTICS.
If DTC 31-8 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 31-8 is not indicated, replace left side air bag module.
See SIDE AIR BAG MODULES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disable air bag system. Disconnect right and left seat belt

pretensioners. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Access
and disconnect SRS unit connector "B". See SRS UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See
Fig. 33 . Connect negative battery cable. Remove SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead. DO
NOT disconnect simulator lead from left floor harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
