1. Check the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
Go to step 14.
Go to step 2.
2. Replace the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and wait for 30
seconds. Then turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Check the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
The system is OK at this time.
Go to step 5.
5. Replace the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
6. Disconnect the SRS main harness 2P connector (A)
from the driver’s under-dash fuse/relay box.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) and wait for 30
seconds, then turn the ignition switch OFF.
8. Check the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
Go to step 9.
Short to ground in the No. 1 (15A) fuse line.
9. Disconnect the driver’s airbag connector (A), front
passenger’s airbag connector (B), and both seat
belt tensioner 2P connectors (C).

10. Disconnect the SRS main harness 18P connector
(A) from the SRS unit.
11. Reconnect the SRS main harness 2P connector to
the driver’s under-dash fuse/relay box.
12. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and wait for 30
seconds. Then turn the ignition switch OFF.
13. Check the No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver’s under-
dash fuse/relay box.
Short to ground in the SRS unit; replace the
SRS unit (see page 23-382).
Short to ground in the SRS main harness;
replace the SRS main harness.
14. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the
battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
15. Disconnect the driver’s airbag connector (A), front
passenger’s airbag connector (B), and both seat
belt tensioner 2P connectors (C).

16. Disconnect the SRS main harness 18P connector
(A) from the SRS unit.
17. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
18. Connect a voltmeter between the No. 7 terminal of
the SRS main harness 18P connector and body
ground. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and
measure the voltage. There should be battery
voltage.
Faulty SRS unit or poor contact at the SRS
main harness 18P connector; check the connection.
If the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit.
Go to step 19.
19. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
20. Disconnect the SRS main harness 2P connector (A)
from the driver’s under-dash fuse/relay box.
21. Check resistance between the No. 7 terminal of the
SRS main harness 18P connector and the No. 1
terminal of the SRS main harness 2P connector.
There should be 0

Open in the driver’s under-dash fuse/relay
box or poor contact at the SRS main harness 2P
connector; check the connection. If the connection
is OK, replace the driver’s under-dash fuse/relay
box or repair it.
Open in the SRS main harness; replace the
SRS main harness.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and see if the other
indicators come on (brake system, etc.).
Go to step 2.
Go to step 8.
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then remove the
gauge assembly (see page 22-100). Disconnect
gauge assembly connector B (22P), and C (16P)
3. Check resistance between the No. 16 terminal of
gauge assembly connector B (22P) and body
ground. There should be 0

Go to step 4.
Open in the BLK wire of the dashboard wire
harness or faulty body ground terminal (G503). If
the body ground terminal is OK, replace the
dashboard wire harness.
4. Check for voltage between the No. 9 terminal of
gauge assembly connector C (16P) and body
ground within the first 6 seconds after turning the
ignition switch ON (II). There should be 8.5 V or less.
Faulty SRS indicator circuit in the gauge
assembly; replace the gauge assembly.
Go to step 5.
