COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If the room lamp do not illuminate, the wiring harness
connector(s), the bulb or the fuse may be defective
or burned out.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the room lamp

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

Step 1. Check that the luggage compartment
lamp illuminates.
Check that the luggage compartment lamp illumi-
nates normally.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 2.

NO :

Refer to Inspection Procedure M-1 "The
interior lamps (room ramp, luggage
compartment lamp) does not illuminate or
extinguish normally

Step 2. Connector check: C-04 room lamp
connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 3.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

Step 3. Check the bulb.
Check whether the room lamp bulb is normal.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 4.

NO :

Replace the bulb(s) of the defective lamp.

Step 4. Check the room lamp.
Check whether the room lamp is normal.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 5.

NO :

Replace the room lamp.

Step 5. Determine a trouble spot.

Q: Which switch position (DOOR or ON) does the

room lamp illuminate at?
The lamp illuminates at neither the ON or DOOR
position. :

Go to Step 6.

The lamp illuminates at the DOOR position. :

Go to

Step 7.

The lamp illuminates at the ON position. :

Go to

Step 9.

Step 6. Check the wiring harness from C-04 room
lamp connector terminal No.3 to fusible link (1).

diate connector C-02 and junction block connector
B-108 and B-113 repair if necessary.

• Check the power supply line for open circuit.

lamp connector terminal No.2 to body earth.

NOTE:

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-
diate connector C-02 and junction block connector
B-113 and B-130 repair if necessary.

• Check the earth wires for open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

INSPECTION PROCEDURE M-3: The luggage compartment lamp does not illuminate normally.

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the
input and output signal circuits are normal.
