Step 4. SWS monitor data list
Check the SWS communication signal, which is
related to the door-ajar warning lamp.
<Selected item> ETACS ECU
• Ignition switch: ON position
• Driver's door: open
OK: Normal conditions are displayed for all
the items.
Q: Is the check result normal?
Normal conditions are displayed for all the items. :
Go to Step 5.
Normal condition is not displayed for item No.30. :
Refer to inspection procedure N-2 "The
ignition switch (IG1) signal is not received
."
Normal condition is not displayed for item No.32. :
Refer to inspection procedure N-3 "The
driver's door switch signal is not received
."
Step 5. ETACS switch data by using the SWS
monitor
Check the ETACS-ECU input signal related to the
door-ajar warning buzzer function.
• Doors other than the driver's door (including the
tailgate): Closed to open
OK: Normal condition is displayed.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 6.
NO :
Refer to inspection procedure N-10 "All the
door switch signals are not received
."
Step 6. M.U.T.-III actuator test
Perform the actuator test for the combination meter,
and check that the door-ajar warning lamp illumi-
nates (Refer to GROUP 54A
− Combination Meter

INPUT SIGNAL PROCEDURES
SMART WIRING SYSTEM (SWS) USING SWS MONITOR
54C-201
INPUT SIGNAL PROCEDURES
Inspection Procedure N-1: The ignition switch (ACC) signal is not received.
CAUTION
Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the
input signal circuit is normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
Input signal from the ignition switch (ACC) is used to
operate the functions below. If the signal is abnormal,
these functions will not work normally.
• Windshield wiper and washer
• Rear wiper and washer
• Electric retractable remote controlled door mirror
POSSIBLE CAUSES
• Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
• Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
Step 1. Connector check: B-133 ETACS-ECU
connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 2.
NO :
Repair the defective connector.

Step 2. Voltage measurement at the B-133
ETACS-ECU connector.
(1) Remove the ETACS-ECU, and measure at the
junction block side.
(2) Ignition switch: ACC position
(3) Voltage between B-133 ETACS-ECU connector
terminal No.74 and body earth
OK: System voltage
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 4.
NO :
Go to Step 3.
Step 3. Check the wiring harness between B-133
ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.74 to the
ignition switch (ACC).
NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check
junction block connector B-129 and B-131, and
repair if necessary.
• Check the power supply line for open circuit.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
The trouble can be an intermittent
malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00
− How to
use Troubleshooting/inspection Service
Points
− How to Cope with Intermittent
).
NO :
Repair the wiring harness.
Step 4. SWS monitor data list
Check the input signal from the ignition switch.
<Selected item> ETACS ECU
• Ignition switch: OFF (LOCK) → ACC
OK: Normal condition is displayed.
