Inspection procedure: 1 MPI System-related Diagnostic Code No.P0513 is Set, and Communication
Between M.U.T.-III and Immobiliser cannot be Established.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

The immobiliser-ECU communicates with the
M.U.T.-III via the engine-ECU <M/T> or
engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>. The communication error
between the immobiliser-ECU and the engine-ECU
<M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU <CVT> may be occurred.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of immobiliser-ECU power supply

and earth

• Damaged harness wires between the

engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>
and the immobiliser-ECU

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step 1. Connector check: Immobiliser-ECU
connector B-49 and engine-ECU <M/T> or
engine-CVT-ECU <CVT> connector A-08

Q: Are immobiliser-ECU connector B-49 and

engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>
connector A-08 in good condition?
YES :

Go to Step 2.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

Step 2. Check the harness wires between
immobiliser-ECU connector B-49 (terminal 3) and
engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>
connector A-08 (terminal 120).

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-
diate connector B-40, and repair if necessary.

Q: Are the harness wires between immobiliser-ECU

connector B-49 (terminal 3) and engine-ECU <M/T>
or engine-CVT-ECU<CVT> connector A-08
(terminal 120) in good condition?
YES :

Go to Step 3.

NO :

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 3. Check the immoblizer-ECU power supply
circuit and earth circuit (Refer to Inspection
Procedure 4 "Check the immoblizer ECU power
supply circuit and earth circuit"

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 4.

NO :

Repair the power supply and earth circuit to
the immobiliser-ECU.

Step 4. Retest the system.
Check that immobiliser-ECU communicates with the
M.U.T.-III.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

NO :

Replace the immobiliser-ECU, and then go
to Step 5.

Step 5. Retest the system.
Check that immobiliser-ECU communicates with the
M.U.T.-III.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

The procedure is complete.

NO :

Replace the engine-ECU <M/T> or
engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If only some ignition keys cannot be registered, the
ignition key itself may be defective. If no ignition key
can be registered, the immobiliser-ECU may be
defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of ignition key

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

• Malfunction of immobiliser-ECU

• Malfunction of engine-ECU <M/T> or

engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check that no ignition key can be
registered.

Q: Can any of the ignition keys be registered?

YES :

Replace the ignition key that cannot be

registered with new registered ignition key.

NO :

Go to Step 2.
