USB MEMORY DEVICE-RELATED ERROR CODE
ERROR 003
Mechanical error
This error codes will be shown if there is any internal mechanical
or electrical problem in the radio and CD player. Replace the
radio and CD player, and check that no error codes are shown.
ERROR 004
• Power supply error
• Communication error
• Other errors
Internal malfunction of the radio and CD player Replace the radio
and CD player.
ERROR HOT
Protection against high
temperature
If the internal temperature is extremely high, this error code will
be shown. Turn off the radio and CD player and wait until they
cool down. Wait for a while, and then turn on the unit again.
Check that the same error does not appear.

No playable music file is
found.
No playable music file is stored in the iPod. Store music files to
the iPod.
VERSION
ERROR
iPod cannot be recognized iPod itself or software is not supported. Use the supported iPod.

POWER
Overcurrent abnormality
There is a communication error with the USB box or hands free
ECU. Carry out the troubleshooting of "The USB memory
device data cannot be replayed". (Refer to
<USB
box> or
<hands free ECU>.)
USB LSI
ERROR
USB box or hands free
ECU internal error
This error code will be shown when there is a problem in the
USB box or hands free ECU. Replace the USB box or hands
free ECU.
CONNECT
RETRY
iPod cannot be
authenticated.
iPod is not authenticated. Reconnect. If the error code is not
erased after that, the USB box or hands free ECU
communication may have a problem. Carry out the
troubleshooting of "The USB adapter data cannot be replayed".

(copyright protected file,
etc.) is attempted.
Displayed when the playback of unplayable file such as a
copyright protected file is attempted. The error code is
displayed approximately for 3 seconds, and then a next
playable file is played automatically.
UNSUPPOR
TED
FORMAT
Unsupported format
The USB memory device is not supported by the USB box or
hands free ECU. Use the supported USB memory device.

Use these steps to plan your diagnostic strategy. Fol-
low through with each step to ensure that you have
exhausted all possible methods of finding an audio
system fault.
1. Gather information from the customer.
2. Verify that the condition described by the
customer exists.
3. Find the malfunction by following the Symptom
Chart.
4. Verify that the malfunction is eliminated.

SYMPTOM PROCEDURES
Inspection Procedure 1: Power of radio and CD player does not turn ON when the ignition switch is in
the "ACC" position or "ON" position.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The cause is probably a faulty radio and CD player
power supply circuit system.
PROBABLE CAUSES
• Damaged wiring harness or connector.
• Malfunction of radio and CD player.
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check to see that the power turns ON
when the power switch is turned ON.
(1) Turn the ignition switch to "ACC" position.
(2) Turn ON the radio and CD player power switch.
Q: Is it possible to put the radio and CD player power
in the "ON" position?
YES :
Go to Step 2.
NO :
Go to Step 8.
