: There is no "stored" state for diagnosis code

No.B1707, No.B1760, No.B1762, No.B1765.

*2

: When the diagnosis codes relating to the CAN

or LIN communication error are set, make sure of
the vehicle equipment. When the vehicle is not

equipped with the system the ETACS-ECU com-
municates to, the diagnosis code is always out-
put. This is not abnormal.

DIAGNOSIS CODE PROCEDURES

Code No. B1709: ETACS-ECU internal error (EEPROM abnormality)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If an error is detected more than once during the
reading from/writing to the EEPROM of the ETACS-
ECU, the ETACS-ECU stores the diagnosis code No.
B1709.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
Check if diagnosis code is set to the ETACS-ECU.

Q: Is the diagnosis code set?

YES :

Replace the ETACS-ECU and register the

ID codes (Refer to

P.54A-39

).

NO :

The procedure is complete.

Code No. B1760: Variant coding unmatched

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If any abnormality is found in the contents of the vari-
ant coding that is registered to the ETACS-ECU, the
diagnosis code No. B1760 is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the
ETACS-ECU.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.

(2) Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF)

position to "ON" position.

(3) On completion, check that the diagnosis code is

reset.

Q: Is the diagnosis code set?

YES :

Replace the ETACS-ECU and register the

ID codes (Refer to

P.54A-39

).

NO :

The procedure is complete.

Code No.B1762: Ignition OFF current draw (IOD) fuse disconnected

Code No.B1765: ECU power supply fuse disconnected

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

• With the ignition switch "ON" or "START," when

the OFF condition (fuse disconnected) of the bat-
tery and ignition switch (ACC) is detected,
ETACS-ECU stores the diagnosis code No.
B1762.

• With the ignition switch "ON" or "START," when

the ON condition (fuse disconnected) of the bat-
tery and ignition switch (ACC) is detected,
ETACS-ECU stores the diagnosis code No.
B1765.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the IOD fuse (No.25)

• Malfunction of the ECU power supply fuse

(No.26)

• Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check of the fuse
Check the fuse (No. 25 or 26).

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 2.

NO :

Perform the inspection for a blown fuse
(Refer to GROUP 00

− How to Use

Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points
