TROUBLESHOOTING
ACTIVE STABILITY & TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (ASTC)
35C-126
CAUTION
If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an
incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Diagnose
the CAN bus lines before the diagnosis codes
(Refer to GROUP 54C
− CAN Bus Diagnostics
Table .).
OPERATION
By the input from the ASTC OFF indicator lamp cir-
cuit, ASTC-ECU controls ON/OFF of the ASTC indi-
cator lamp.
COMMENT
This may be caused by faults in wiring harness or
connectors between the ASTC-ECU and ASTC OFF
indicator lamp, combination meter or ASTC-ECU.
PROBABLE CAUSES
• Malfunction of the combination meter
• Damaged harness, connector
• Malfunction of the hydraulic unit assembly (inte-
grated with ASTC-ECU)
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics
Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 2.
NO :
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP
54C
− CAN Bus Diagnostics Table .). Then
go to Step 6.
STEP 2. Connector check: A-48 ASTC-ECU
connector, C-13 intermediate connector, C-113
combination meter connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 3.
NO :
Repair or replace it. Then go to Step 6.
STEP 3. Check for open circuit in the wiring
harness between A-48 ASTC-ECU connector and
C-113 combination meter connector.
Check for open circuit in the wiring harness between
A-48 ASTC-ECU connector terminal No.10 and C-
113 combination meter connector terminal No.32.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES :
Go to Step 4.
NO :
Repair the wiring harness between the A-48
ASTC-ECU terminal No.10 and the C-113
combination meter connector terminal
No.32. Then go to Step 6.
