B1200-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT LOW
For a complete wiring diagram Refer to section 8W.
•
When Monitored:
With the ignition on and when requested to turn on by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC).
•
Set Condition:
The Instrument Cluster software detects the voltage across the Airbag Lamp is below 0.3 volts when ON.
Possible Causes
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
Diagnostic Test
1.
CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR DTC B1200-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT LOW
NOTE: The Instrument Cluster performs internal tests on the Airbag Lamp during each ignition cycle.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Wait for the Instrument Cluster to perform the bulb check.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC B1200-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT LOW reset?
Yes
>> Replace and program the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST-VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL
MODULES/FRONT CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Test complete.

B1201-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT HIGH

When Monitored:

1.
CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR DTC B1201-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT HIGH
NOTE: The Instrument Cluster performs internal tests on the Airbag Lamp during each ignition cycle.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Wait for the Instrument Cluster to perform the bulb check.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC B1201-AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT HIGH reset?
Yes
>> Replace and program the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.

When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

Set Condition:
The Instrument Cluster detects a short to ground condition on the Panel Illumination circuit.
Possible Causes
PANEL LAMPS DIMMER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
DIMMED COMPONENT INTERNALLY SHORTED
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
Diagnostic Test
1.
TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on.
Turn the headlamps on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1613-PANEL ILLUMINATION CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
>> Go To 2
No
>> The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a
guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times
and recheck for active DTCs.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST-VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL
MODULES/FRONT CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
2.
CHECK THE HEADLAMP SWITCH FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT
With the scan tool, erase Instrument Cluster DTCs.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1613-PANEL ILLUMINATION CON-
TROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
>> Go To 3
No
>> Replace the Headlamp Switch in accordance with the ser-
vice information.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST-VER 1. (Refer to
8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/
FRONT CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TEST-
