APS RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH (CONTINUED)

For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Section 8W.

When Monitored:
Ignition on.

Set Condition:
When the FCM detects a short to voltage on the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit.

Possible Causes

INTERMITTENT DTC

ADJUSTABLE PEDAL RELAY

ADJUSTABLE PEDAL CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE

Diagnostic Test

1.

VERIFY DTC

With the DRBIII

T

, record and erase DTCs.

Turn the ignition on.

With the DRBIII

T

, read DTCs.

Does the DTC reset?

Yes

>> Go To 2

No

>> Go To 4

2.

ADJUSTABLE PEDALS RELAY OPERATION

Turn the ignition off.

Substitute the Adjustable Pedals Relay with a known good one.

Turn the ignition on.

Attempt to operate the Adjustable Pedals.

With the DRBIII

T

, read DTC.

Does the DTC reset?

Yes

>> Go To 3

No

>> Replace the Adjustable Pedals Relay.

Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL - DIAGNOSIS AND
TESTING)

ADJUSTABLE PEDALS RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE

Turn the ignition off.

Remove the FCM from the IPM.

Remove the Adjustable Pedals Relay.

Turn the ignition on.

Measure the voltage on the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit in the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit
terminal.

Does the voltmeter indicate voltage present?

Yes

>> Repair the short to voltage in the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit.

Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL - DIAGNOSIS AND
TESTING)

No

>> Replace the FCM in accordance with the Service Information

Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL - DIAGNOSIS AND
TESTING)

4.

INTERMITTENT DTC

Turn the ignition off.

Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.

Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

Were any problems found?

Yes

>> Repair as necessary.

Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL - DIAGNOSIS AND
TESTING)

No

>> Test Complete.

Diagnostic Test

Yes

>> Go To 2

No

>> Go To 4
