Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the VTSS Indicator harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 100 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit for a short to ground.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the Service
Information.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.

Select what DRBIII
t displayed.

Hood
Driver or Pass Door or Decklid
Using the DRBIII
t monitor the ajar circuit indicated for intermit-
tent problems while manual operating the ajar switch. Also,
inspect related wiring. Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.
Ignition
Advise customer that the alarm must be disarmed prior to turning
the ignition on. Inspect wiring for intermittent problems or after
market add on that may cause this condition. Repair or replace as
necessary.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.
None

Ensure Hood is aligned and closes properly.
Remove the ignition key (but keep in hand).
Lock the vehicle and close doors, decklid and hood.
Allow the VTSS to arm.
Attempt to trip alarm by lightly tapping on hood near ajar switch to simulate wind
and noise vibration.
Did the VTSS trip to the alarming state?
All
Yes
→ Replace the hood ajar switch.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.
No
→ The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.

Open the Decklid.

Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Refer to symptom DECKLID AJAR CKT OPEN in the DOOR
AJAR category.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - 1A.
