Symptom:
DOME SWITCH INPUT SHORT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DOME SWITCH INPUT SHORT
When Monitored:
Continuously
Set Condition:
When the input voltage is less than 0.2 volts for over 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
INTERMITTENT CONDITION
PANEL LAMPS DIMMER SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, clear all BCM DTC’s.
Turn the Dome Lamps on.
With the DRBIII
t, read the DTC information.
Does the DRBIII
t display: Dome Switch Input Short?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present.
Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition.
Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Multifunction Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Multifunction Switch harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Multifunction Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Symptom:
READING LAMP OUTPUT SHORT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
READING LAMP OUTPUT SHORT
When Monitored:
When output is ON.
Set Condition:
When output is ON and device current limits.

READING LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT

APPLICABILITY

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, clear all BCM DTC’s.
Turn the Reading Lamps on.
With the DRBIII
t, read the DTC information.
Does the DRBIII
t display: Reading Lamp Output Short?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present.
Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition.
Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Turn the reading lamps on.
Measure the resistance of the Reading Lamps circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Reading Lamps Driver Circuit for a short condition.

INTERIOR LIGHTING
Symptom:
DECKLID RELEASE OUTPUT OPEN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DECKLID RELEASE OUTPUT OPEN
When Monitored:
Whenever the Decklid Release is activated.
Set Condition:
The Body Control Module supplies the current to the Decklid Release
Solenoid when the command to release is received. If the Release Driver current draw is
less than 0.1 amp when the output is turned on, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
GROUND CIRCUIT
DECKLID RELEASE SOLENOID
DECKLID RELEASE DRIVER WIRE OPEN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DECKLID RELEASE DRIVER OPEN
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Try to operate the Decklid Release several times.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display DECKLID RELEASE OUTPUT OPEN?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Decklid Release Solenoid.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the Ground circuit at the
solenoid connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Repair the Ground circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

POWER DOOR LOCKS/RKE
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY

Disconnect the Decklid Release Solenoid.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Decklid Release Driver
circuit at the solenoid connector..
Turn the ignition on.
Try to operate the Decklid Release several times.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the decklid is activated?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Decklid Release Solenoid.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 4

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Decklid Release Solenoid connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Decklid Release Driver circuit between the BCM C2
connector and the Solenoid connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Decklid Release Driver circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
