(7) Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks.
Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
(8) Check the exhaust system for contact with the
body panels. Make the necessary ajustments, if
needed.

SPOUT ASSEMBLY - LEFT/RIGHT (Continued)
H-PIPE
REMOVAL
(1) Raise vehicle on hoist (Refer to LUBRICATION
& MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PRO-
CEDURE).
(2) Remove left and right sill panels (Refer to 23 -
BODY/EXTERIOR/SILL PANEL - REMOVAL) (Fig.
7).
(3) Apply penetrating oil to left and right spout
assembly and H-pipe band clamps (Fig. 11) and (Fig.
12).
(4) Loosen left and right spout assembly and
H-Pipe band clamps (Fig. 11) and (Fig. 12).
(5) Remove left side “B” pillar support isolator
(Fig. 11).
(6) Separate left spout assembly from left resona-
tor.
(7) Separate left spout assembly from H-Pipe.
(8) Remove right side “B” pillar support isolator
(Fig. 11).
(9) Separate right spout assembly from right reso-
nator.
(10) Separate right spout assembly from H-Pipe.
(11) Remove H-Pipe (Fig. 12).
INSTALLATION
(1) Install H-Pipe to mounting position (Fig. 12).
(2) Connect right spout assembly to H-Pipe (Fig.
12). Do not tighten band clamps at this time.
(3) Connect left spout assembly to H-Pipe (Fig. 12).
Do not tighten band clamps at this time.
(4) Connect right spout assembly to right resona-
tor (Fig. 11). Do not tighten band clamp at this time.
(5) Connect left spout assembly to left resonator
(Fig. 11). Do not tighten band clamp at this time.
(6) Install left side “B” pillar support isolator.
Tighten bolts to 28 N·m (250 in. lbs.) (Fig. 11).
(7) Install right side “B” pillar support isolator.
Tighten bolts to 28 N·m (250 in. lbs.) (Fig. 11).
(8) Tighten all band clamps to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.).
(9) Install left and right sill panels (Refer to 23 -
BODY/EXTERIOR/SILL PANEL - INSTALLATION)
(Fig. 7).
(10) Lower vehicle.
(11) Start the engine and inspect for exhaust
leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
(12) Check the exhaust system for contact with the
body panels. Make the necessary ajustments, if
needed.
HEAT SHIELDS - EXPORT
REMOVAL - AUXILIARY RESONATOR HEAT
SHEILD
(1) Remove the auxiliary resonator (Refer to 11 -
EXHAUST SYSTEM/RESONATOR - REMOVAL).
(2) Drill out the heat shield retaining rivets, and
remove the heat shield (Fig. 13).
INSTALLATION - AUXILIARY RESONATOR HEAT
SHIELD
NOTE: Check the heat shield for contact with the
body and/or exhaust, and adjust as necessary
before installing the rivets.
(1) Position the auxiliary resonator heat shield,
and install new rivets (Fig. 13).
(2) Install the auxiliary resonator (Refer to 11 -
EXHAUST
SYSTEM/RESONATOR

TION).

RESONATOR(S) - EXPORT
REMOVAL
(1) Raise the vehicle on a hoist (Refer to LUBRI-
CATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STAN-
DARD PROCEDURE).
(2) Remove the rear extension belly pan (Refer to
23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/BELLY PAN - REMOVAL).
(3) Apply penetrating oil to the auxiliary resona-
tor-to-H-pipe extension band clamps.
(4) Loosen the auxiliary resonator-to-H-pipe band
clamps, and separate the auxiliary resonator from
the H-pipe extension pipes (Fig. 17).
(5) Remove the upper left auxiliary resonator
hanger (Refer to 11 - EXHAUST SYSTEM/SUPPORT
BRACKET AND ISOLATOR - REMOVAL).
(6) Slide the resonator toward the rear of the vehi-
cle and release it from the lower left hanger.
(7) Slide the resonator toward the right of the
vehicle and release it from the right hanger.
(8) Remove the auxiliary resonator from the vehi-
cle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Align the resonator with the right hanger and
slide it in place.
(2) Align the resonator with the lower left hanger
and slide it in place.
(3) Install the upper left hanger on the resonator,
and install the hanger (Refer to 11 - EXHAUST SYS-
TEM/SUPPORT
BRACKET
AND
ISOLATOR
-
INSTALLATION).
(4) Connect the auxiliary resonator to the H-pipe.
Tighten the band clamps to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.).
(5) Install the rear extension belly pan (Refer to 23
- BODY/EXTERIOR/BELLY PAN - INSTALLATION).
(6) Lower the vehicle.
(7) Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks.
Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
(8) Check the exhaust system for contact with the
body panels. Make any necessary adjustments, if
needed.
SPOUT ASSEMBLY - EXPORT
REMOVAL
NOTE: This procedure covers removal of either the
right OR left spout assembly. Remove the appropri-
ate parts for the side that is being worked on.
(1) Raise the vehicle on a hoist (Refer to LUBRI-
CATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STAN-
DARD PROCEDURE).
(2) Remove the sill panel (Refer to 23 - BODY/EX-
TERIOR/ROCKER PANEL COVER - REMOVAL).
(3) Apply penetrating oil to the spout assembly
and diverter pipe band clamps (Fig. 14) and (Fig. 15).
(4) Loosen the spout assembly and diverter pipe
band clamps (Fig. 14) and (Fig. 15).
(5) Remove the “B” pillar support isolator (Fig. 15).
(6) Separate the spout assembly from the resona-
tor.
(7) Separate the spout assembly from the diverter
pipe.
(8) Remove the spout assembly.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: This procedure covers installation of either
the right or left spout assembly. Install the appropri-
ate parts for the side that is being worked on.
NOTE: Do not tighten the band clamps until all of
the exhaust connections are in place.

(1) Connect the spout assembly to the diverter
pipe (Fig. 15). Loosely install the band clamps.
(2) Connect the spout assembly to the resonator
(Fig. 15). Loosely install the band clamps.
(3) Install the “B” pillar support insulator (Fig.
14). Tighten the bolts to 28 N·m (250 in. lbs.).
(4) Tighten all band clamps to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.).
(5) Install the sill panel (Refer to 23 - BODY/EX-
TERIOR/ROCKER PANEL COVER - INSTALLA-
TION).
(6) Lower the vehicle.
(7) Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks.
Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
(8) Check the exhaust system for contact with the
body panels. Make any necessary adjustments, if
needed.
H-PIPE - EXPORT
REMOVAL
REMOVAL - H-PIPE
(1) Remove the H-pipe extension pipes (Refer to 11
- EXHAUST SYSTEM/H-PIPE - REMOVAL).
(2) Apply penetrating oil to the left and right
diverter pipe-to-H-pipe band clamps (Fig. 16).
(3) Loosen the diverter pipe-to-H-pipe band clamps
and separate the H-pipe from the diverter pipes (Fig.
16).
(4) Remove the H-pipe from the vehicle.
