ACTION
APPLICABILITY

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Window Hall Signal circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 8
No
→ Repair the Driver Window Hall Signal circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
All
Repair
Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Connect a 12-volt test light between the Driver Window Up Driver and the Driver
Window Down Driver circuits in the motor connector.
Press the Driver Window Switch UP and DOWN.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the switch is in either position?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Driver Power Window Motor.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 10

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Window Down Driver circuit between the BCM
C2 connector and the Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 11
No
→ Repair the Driver Window Down Driver circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Window Up Driver circuit between the BCM C2
connector and the Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Driver Window Up Driver circuit for an open.

Symptom:
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE
When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is in the RUN or ACCESSORY position.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses that the voltage on the Driver Window Switch Mux
circuit is over 4.5 volts for longer than 31 milliseconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
SWITCH OPEN
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH RETURN WIRE OPEN
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Try to operate the Driver Window Motor several times.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH OPEN/SHORT TO VOLT-
AGE??
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Window Switch Return
circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
No
→ Go To 3
Yes
→ Go To 4

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Passenger Window Switch Return circuit between the
Switch connector and the BCM C4 connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Driver Window Switch Return circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between Driver Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Select the voltage measured.
All
Between 4.8 and 5.2 volts.
Replace the Window Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Below 4.7.volts.
Above 5.3 volts.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Switch Mux circuit between the Switch
connector and the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Driver Window Switch Mux circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between the Driver Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Is there any voltage present?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to
voltage.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is in the RUN or ACCESSORY position.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses that the voltage on the Driver Window Switch Mux
circuit is less than 0.69 volts for longer than 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
SWITCH SHORTED
DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH MUX WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED

With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.

All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No

Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between Driver Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Is the voltage approximately 5.0 volts?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Switch Mux circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
