Test requirements
• Fuses OK.
• Battery voltage OK.
• Switch OFF all electrical and electronic accessories.
• Vehicles with Auto. Transmission, ensure Selector Lever po‐
sition is in “P”.
• Vehicles with Man. Transmission, ensure Shifter Lever posi‐
tion is in “N” with Parking Brake applied.
• Coolant Temperature: ≥ 80° C.
• Observe all safety precautions:

• View clean working conditions:

percentage display must increase uniformly.

• SPECIFIED VALUE: 84 - 97%.
• IGNITION: OFF.

• DISCONNECT: Throttle Valve Control Module
- J338- harness connector.
• IGNITION: ON.
• CHECK: Throttle Valve Control Module - GX3-
harness connector terminals 2 to 6 for voltage.
• CHECK: Throttle Valve Control Module - GX3-
harness connector terminal 2 to ground for
voltage.
• IGNITION: OFF.
• SPECIFIED VALUE: About 5.0 V.

ness connector for any damaged, pushed-out
pins.

♦ Repair is complete. Generate Readiness

Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -
N249- , Checking
General Description
A Turbocharger Recirculation Valve - N249- keeps a portion of air
running through the intake side of the turbocharger when the
throttle valve is closed and boost pressure is still present. This
keeps the turbocharger impeller from slowing down, reducing tur‐
bo lag when the throttle is applied again.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Multimeter.
♦ Wiring Diagram.
♦ Scan Tool.
Test requirements
