Using the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK)

CAUTION

Do not attempt to drive your vehicle
if the tire pressure is below 200 kpa
(29 psi).This could result in an acci‐
dent due to sudden tire failure.

Distributing the sealant

CAUTION
Do not exceed a speed of 60 km/h
(35 mph). If possible, do not fall be‐
low a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph).
While driving, if you experience any
unusual vibration, ride disturbance
or noise, reduce your speed and
drive with caution until you can
safely pull off of the side of the
road. Call for road side service or
towing.

When you use the Tire Mobility Kit,
the tire pressure sensors and wheel
may be stained by sealant.
Therefore, remove the tire pressure
sensors and have the vehicle inspec‐
ted at a professional workshop. Kia
recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
Checking the tire inflation
pressure

4. Adjust thü tirü inýlation prüssurü to
220 kça (32 psi). With thü iþnition
switchüd on, procüüd as ýollows.
- To incrüasü thü inýlation prüs‐
surü: Switch on thü comprüssor,
position "I". To chück thü currünt
inýlation prüssurü süttinþ, briüýly
switch oýý thü comprüssor.
WARNING
Do not let the compressor run for
more than 10 minutes, otherwise
the device will overheat and may be
damaged.

Loosün thü scrüw cap (9) on thü
comprüssor hosü.
CAUTION
If the inflation pressure is not main‐
tained, drive the vehicle a second
time, refer to Distributing the seal‐
ant on page 7-27. Then repeat
steps 1 to 4.
Use of the TMK may be ineffectual
for tire damage larger than approxi‐
mately 4 mm (0.16 in).
Contact a professional workshop if
the tire cannot be made roadworthy
with the Tire Mobility Kit. Kia recom‐
mends to visit an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.
WARNING
The tire inflation pressure must be
at least 220 kPa (32 psi). If it is not,
do not continue driving. Call for road
side service or towing.

distancü and at low spüüd. Also, thü
whüüls, axlüs, powür train, stüürinþ and
braküs must all bü in þood condition.

CAUTION

hook.
• Using a portion of the vehicle oth‐
er than the tow hooks for towing
may damage the body of your ve‐
hicle.
• Use only a cable or chain specifi‐
cally intended for use in towing
vehicles. Securely fasten the cable
or chain to the towing hook provi‐
ded.

WARNING
Use extreme caution when towing
the vehicle.
• Avoid sudden starts or erratic driv‐
ing maneuvers which would place
excessive stress on the emergency
towing hook and towing cable or
chain. The hook and towing cable
or chain may break and cause seri‐
ous injury or damage.
• If the disabled vehicle is unable to
be moved, do not forcibly continue
the towing. We recommend that
you contact an authorized Kia
dealer or a commercial tow truck
service for assistance.
• Tow the vehicle as straight ahead
as possible.
• Keep away from the vehicle during
towing.

n Automatic transaxle / Dual
clutch transmission
• If the car is being towed with all
four wheels on the ground, it can
be towed only from the front. Be
sure that the transaxle is in neu‐
tral. Be sure the steering is un‐
locked by placing the ignition
switch in the ACC position. A driver
must be in the towed vehicle to
operate the steering and brakes.

• To avoid serious damage to the
automatic transaxle / dual clutch
transmission, limit the vehicle
speed to 15 km/h (10 mph) and
drive less than 1.5 km (1 mile)
when towing.
• Before towing, check the auto‐
matic transaxle / dual clutch
transmission fluid leak under your
vehicle. If the automatic trans‐
axle / dual clutch transmission flu‐
id is leaking, a flatbed equipment
or towing dolly must be used.
