Symptom:
WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored:
During a window operating command.
Set Condition:
When the module senses a door ajar switch sense circuit low and the
window drop switch sense circuit stays above 4.5 volts, this code will set.

APPLICABILITY

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Open and close the door that this code was stored in.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Window Drop Switch connector (on the latch assembly).
Connect a jumper wire between the Window Drop Switch Sense circuit and ground.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO
GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Door Latch Assembly.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Drop Switch connector (on the latch assembly).
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Window Drop Switch Sense circuit between the
Window Drop Switch connector and the Window Module Connector..
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Window Drop Switch Sense circuit for an open.

DOOR AJAR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN

DOOR AJAR SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN

APPLICABILITY
1
Disconnect the Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch harness connector.
Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to 12-volts, test the Ground circuit for
continuity.
Does the light illuminate?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Repair the Ground circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch harness connector.
With the DRBIII
t in Inputs/Outputs, read the DOOR AJAR SW state.
Connect a jumper wire between Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit and the Ground
circuit.
Does the DRBIII
t display DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Door Latch Assembly.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module harness connector.
Disconnect the Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit between the Window
Module connector and the Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

t, read DTCs.
Are there any window or door lock related DTC’s
All
Yes
→ Refer to symptom list for problems related to POWER WINDOWS
or POWER DOOR LOCKS.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 2

Disconnect the Window Drop Switch connector (on the latch assembly).
Close the driver door.
Raise the window to the fully closed position.
Does the window glass now travel to the full closed position
All
Yes
→ Replace the Door Latch Assembly.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Drop Switch connector (on the latch assembly).
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Window Drop Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Window Drop Switch Sense circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
