Troubleshooting

Rear fog lamps (With air-bag)

Preliminary check:
Check an open lamp filament before proceeding with diagnosis. If bulb is damaged, check connection of the
bulb and replace bulb. In addition, check for "RR FOG(10A)" fuse and headlight relay. If open, check for short
to ground though the R/G wire, overload. Replace the fuse and relay. Check that all system electrical
connectors mated correctly.
Rear fog lamps do not operate.

Connect test light between the combination
switch terminal B(W/L) of E-01 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "W/L" to
combination switch or replace.

Connect test light between the combination
switch terminal B(W/L) of E-01 and
terminal H(B) of E-01.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for poor connection at ground. If
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.

Disconnect combination switch connector.
Check for continuity between terminals of
combination switch by turning the switch.
Is combination switch normal?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Replace combination switch assembly.

Connect combination switch connector and
turn the combination switch to "HEAD"
position.
Connect test light between terminal B(R/G)
of rear fog lamp switch E-23 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "R/G" or
replace.

Turn the combination switch to "OFF"
position and disconnect rear fog lamp
switch.
Check for continuity between terminals of
rear fog lamp switch by pressing the
switch.
Is continuity present ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Replace rear fog lamp switch.

Connect rear fog lamp switch and turn the
combination switch to "HEAD" position.
Connect test light between terminal A(G) of
LH rear fog lamp E-14 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at rear fog
lamp switch. If OK, repair open or short in
the wire "G" between rear fog lamp switch
and LH rear fog lamp or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G)
and terminal B(B) of LH rear fog lamp E-14
and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at ground. If
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G)
or RH rear fog lamp E-13 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "G"
between rear fog lamp switch and LH rear
fog lamp or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G)
and Terminal B(B) of RH rear fog lamp
E-13 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Check for a poor connection at the rear fog
lamp. If OK, replace the rear fog lamp.

No

Check for a poor connection at ground. If
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.
