NG: REPLACE FLOOR WIRE

OK: Go to next step

5. CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH

a. Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH.

b. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

c. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

d. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

e. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

f. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

g. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

OK: DTC B1655 is not output.

HINT:

Codes other than DTC B1655 maybe output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG: Go to step 6

OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )

6. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH

a. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

b. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

c. Replace the front seat inner belt LH (see FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY ).

HINT:

Perform inspection using parts from a normal vehicle if possible.

7. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR

a. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

b. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

c. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

d. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

e. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

f. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the passenger airbag
ON/OFF indicator.

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator indicates the operation condition of the front passenger airbag, front
seat side airbag RH and front seat outer belt RH.

DTC B1660/43 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit.

The center airbag sensor receives an open circuit signal, a short
circuit to ground signal or a short circuit to B+ signal in the
passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit for 2 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CONDITION

a. Turn the ignition switch ON.

b. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

HINT:

Refer to the normal condition of the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator (see DIAGNOSIS
SYSTEM
).

NOTE:

When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while
performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is
reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).

After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires
approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds
or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.
