i. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

j. Remove the 2 bolts and throttle body bracket.

k. Using a clip remover, detach the wire harness clamp.

l. Remove the bolt and oil baffle plate.

m. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 surge tank stay.

n. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 surge tank stay.

o. Remove the 2 nuts.

p. Using an 8 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts. Then remove the intake air surge tank and

gasket.

11. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )

12. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Remove the 10 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

INSTALLATION

2009 Toyota Tundra

2009 ENGINE Intake (1GR-FE) - Tundra

1. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Set a new gasket on each cylinder head.

b. Set the intake manifold on the cylinder heads.

c. Install and uniformly tighten the 10 bolts in several passes.

Torque: 26 N*m (265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)

HINT:

Tighten the inner installation bolts of the intake manifold before tightening the outer bolts.

2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )

3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK

a. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.

b. Using an 8 mm hexagon wrench, install the intake air surge tank with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

NOTE:

Align the port holes of the gasket and cylinder head.

Be careful of the installation direction.

Torque: 28 N*m (286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

c. Install the No. 2 surge tank stay with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

d. Install the No. 1 surge tank stay with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
