Measure the resistance between the right-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF09, pin 10, circuit CLF05A (BU/GN), wiring harness side and the CJB,

connector C1BP02A, pin 75, circuit CLF05A (BU/GN), wiring harness side.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to C8

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit between the headlamp and
the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

C8: CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE CJB AND RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR A SHORT
TO GROUND

Measure the resistance between the CJB, connector C1BP02A, pin 75,
circuit CLF05A (BU/GN), wiring harness side and ground.

Is a resistance of more than 10,000 Ohm measured?
Yes

CHECK the CJB, if necessary INSTALL a new one. CHECK system operates
correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground in circuit CLF05A (BU/GN)
between the headlamp and the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK
system operates correctly

C9: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION TO THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the right-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF09, pin 7, circuit GD132M (BK/VT), wiring harness side and ground.

2

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW headlamp. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuit GD132M (BK/VT) between the
headlamp and soldered connection SP380 using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly

PINPOINT TEST D : ONE HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP IS INOPERATIVE

D1: DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAULT

Ignition switch in position II.

SWITCH ON the dipped beam.

TURN ON the high beam.

Is the left-hand high beam inoperative?
Yes

GO to D2

No

GO to D5

D2: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Left-hand headlamp from connector C1LF08.

2

Ignition switch in position II.

3

SWITCH ON the dipped beam.

4

TURN ON the high beam.

5

Measure the voltage between the left-hand headlamp, connector C1LF08,
pin 5, circuit CLF02A (GY/BN), wiring harness side and ground.

6

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to D4

.

No

GO to D3

.

D3: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY AT THE LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02A.

Measure the resistance between the left-hand headlamp, connector
C1BP02A, pin 5, circuit CLF02A (GY/BN), wiring harness side and the CJB,

connector C1BP02A, pin 74, circuit CLF02A (GY/BN), wiring harness side.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW THE CJB. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit between the headlamp and
the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

D4: CHECK GROUND SUPPLY OF LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the left-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF08, pin 7, circuit GD130T (BK/YE), wiring harness side and ground.

2

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW headlamp. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuit GD130T (BK/YE) between the
headlamp and soldered connection SP371 using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly

D5: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Right-hand headlamp from connector C1LF09.

2

Ignition switch in position II.

3

SWITCH ON the dipped beam.

4

TURN ON the high beam.

5

Measure the voltage between the right-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF09 , pin 5, circuit CLF03A (VT/OG), wiring harness side and ground.

6

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to D7

.

No

GO to D6

.

D6: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02A.

2

Measure the resistance between the right-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF09, pin 5, circuit CLF03A (VT/OG), wiring harness side and the CJB,

connector C1BP02A, pin 75, circuit CLF03A (VT/OG), wiring harness side.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW THE CJB. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit between the headlamp and
the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

D7: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION TO THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the right-hand headlamp, connector

C1LF09, pin 7, circuit GD132M (BK/VT), wiring harness side and ground.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW headlamp. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuit GD132M (BK/VT) between the
headlamp and soldered connection SP380 using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly

PINPOINT TEST E : THE HEADLAMPS ARE ON CONTINUOUSLY

Ignition switch in position II.

Lights control module set to OFF.

CHECK the headlamp.

Do the low beams illuminate continuously?
Yes

GO to E2

No

E2: DETERMINE VEHICLE EQUIPMENT LEVEL

Find out whether the vehicle is fitted with the
daytime running lamps (DRL) option.

1

Does the vehicle have daytime running lamps?
Yes

CHECK the software configuration of the GEM with
the aid of WDS and update it as required. CHECK
system operates correctly If the concern persists:

No

GO to E3

E3: CHECK FUSE F33 (5 A) (EJB)

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Disconnect fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB).

2

CHECK fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB).

Is the fuse OK.?
Yes

GO to E4

.

No

RENEW fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB). CHECK system
operates correctly If the fuse blows again, LOCATE
and RECTIFY the short to ground using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

E4: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F33 (5 A) (EJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Connect fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB).

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB)
and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to E5

.

No

LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage
supply of fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB) with the aid of the
wiring diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

E5: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE LIGHTS CONTROL MODULE FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Disconnect Lights control module from connector
C2LF23D.

2

Ignition switch in position II.

3

Measure the voltage between the lights control
module, connector C2LF23D, pin 1, circuit SBB33B

(RD), wiring harness side and ground.

4

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to E6

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB) and the lights control
module with the aid of the wiring diagrams. CHECK
system operates correctly

E6: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE LIGHTS CONTROL MODULE FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Measure the resistance between the lights control
module, connector C2LF23D, pin 5, circuit

GD133BT (BK), wiring harness side and ground.

2

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to E7

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between the lights control module and ground
connection G3D134 with the aid of the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

E7: CHECK THE LIN DATA BUS CONNECTION BETWEEN THE LIGHTING CONTROL
MODULE AND THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX (CJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Disconnect CJB from connector G3D134 .

2

Measure the resistance between the lighting
control module, connector C2LF23D, pin 6, circuit

VLF25A (GN/VT), wiring harness side and the CJB,
connector C1BP02C, pin 52, circuit VLF25A
(GN/VT), wiring harness side.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to E8

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuit VLF25A
