A6: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX (CJB) FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02A.

Measure the resistance between the CJB,
connector C1BP02A, pin 54, circuit GD123F

(BK/GY), wiring harness side and ground.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to A7

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between the CJB and ground connection G1D132B
with the aid of the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system
operates correctly

A7: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX (CJB) FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02B.

2

Measure the resistance between the CJB,
connector C1BP02B, pin 65:

LHD: circuit GD140J (BK/GN), wiring harness
side and ground.

RHD: circuit GD134U (BK/VT), wiring harness
side and ground.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW THE CJB. CHECK system operates correctly

No

- LHD: LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the
circuits between the CJB and ground connection
G3D138 with the aid of the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly
- RHD: LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the
circuits between the CJB and ground connection
G3D133 with the aid of the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly

PINPOINT TEST B : THE HIGH BEAMS ARE INOPERATIVE

B1: DETERMINE THE FAULT CONDITION

Ignition switch in position II.

CHECK the high beam headlamps after every step.

OPERATE headlamp flasher.

TURN ON the high beam.

Do the high beam headlamps only work in one switch position?
Yes

GO to B8

No

GO to B2

B2: CHECK FUSE F9 (15 A) (CJB).

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Disconnect Fuse F9 (15 A) (CJB).

2

CHECK Fuse F9 (15 A) (CJB).

Is the fuse OK.?
Yes

GO to B3

.

No

RENEW fuse F9 (15 A) (CJB). CHECK system operates correctly If the fuse
blows again, LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B3: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F9 (15 A) (CJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Connect Fuse F9 (15 A) (CJB).

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between fuse F9 (15 A) (CJB) and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to B4

.

No

LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage supply of fuse F9 (15 A)
(CJB) using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B4: CHECK FUSE F7 (7.5 A) (CJB).

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB).

2

CHECK Fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB).

Is the fuse OK.?
Yes

GO to B5

.

No

RENEW fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB). CHECK system operates correctly If the fuse
blows again, LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B5: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F7 (7.5 A) (CJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Connect Fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB).

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB) and ground.

Does meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to B6

No

LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage supply of fuse F7 (7.5 A)
(CJB) using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B6: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE STEERING WHEEL/STEERING COLUMN
MODULE FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Steering wheel/steering column module from connector
C2LS41.

2

Measure the resistance between the CJB, connector C1BP02C, pin 70,
circuit SBP07A (WH/RD), wiring harness side and the steering

wheel/steering column module, connector C2LS41, pin 1, circuit SBP07A
(WH/RD), wiring harness side.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to B7

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits between the steering
wheel/steering column module and fuse F7 (7.5 A) (CJB) with the aid of the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B7: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL/STEERING COLUMN
MODULE FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Measure the resistance between the steering wheel/steering column
module, connector C2LS41, pin 14, circuit GD138AY (BK/WH), wiring

harness side and ground.

2

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to B8

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits between the steering
wheel/steering column module and ground connection G6D139 with the aid
of the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

B8: RULE OUT THE HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP SWITCH AS THE CAUSE OF THE FAULT

CHECK the high beam headlamp switch according to the component tests
at the end of this subsection:

Is the high beam headlamp switch OK? ?
Yes

CHECK the CJB and the steering wheel/steering column module with the aid
of WDS and RENEW if necessary. CHECK system operates correctly If the
concern persists:

No

RENEW the high beam headlamp switch. CHECK system operates correctly

PINPOINT TEST C : ONE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP IS INOPERATIVE

Is the left-hand low beam inoperative?
Yes

C2: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Left-hand headlamp from connector C1LF08.

Ignition switch in position II.

SWITCH ON the dipped beam.

4

Measure the voltage between left-hand headlamp, connector C1LF08, pin
10, circuit CLF04A (BN/BU), wiring harness side and ground.

5

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to C5

No

C3: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY AT THE LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02A.

2

Measure the resistance between the left-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF08, pin 10, circuit CLF04A (BN/BU), wiring harness side and the CJB,

connector C1BP02A, pin 76, circuit CLF04A (BN/BU), wiring harness side.

3

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to C4

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit between the headlamp and
the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly

C4: CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE CJB AND LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR A SHORT TO
GROUND

Measure the resistance between the CJB, connector C1BP02A, pin 76,
circuit CLF04A (BN/BU), wiring harness side and ground.

Is a resistance of more than 10,000 Ohm measured?
Yes

CHECK the CJB, if necessary INSTALL a new one. CHECK system operates
correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground in circuit CLF04A (BN/BU)
between the headlamp and the CJB using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK
system operates correctly

C5: CHECK GROUND SUPPLY OF LEFT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Measure the resistance between the left-hand headlamp, connector
C1LF08, pin 7, circuit GD130T (BK/YE), wiring harness side and ground.

2

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

RENEW headlamp. CHECK system operates correctly

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuit GD130T (BK/YE) between the
headlamp and soldered connection SP371 using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK system operates correctly

C6: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

1

Disconnect Right-hand headlamp from connector C1LF09.

2

Ignition switch in position II.

3

SWITCH ON the dipped beam.

4

Measure the voltage between the right-hand headlamp, connector C1LF09,
pin 10, circuit CLF05A (BU/GN), wiring harness side and ground.

5

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to C9

No

GO to C7

.

C7: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE RIGHT-HAND HEADLAMP FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect CJB from connector C1BP02A.
