pressure.

(1) Connect a diode test lamp

between battery anode and low

pressure switch, and the lamp is

lighted. Start engine and increase

engine speed slowly, the diode test

lamp shall go out when pressure

reaches 15-45KPa. If the lamp

does not go out, the low pressure

switch might be at fault; idle run

the engine, engine oil pressure

shall be higher than 45KPa and

the test lamp shall go out. Any oil

pressure lower than 15kPa

indicates lubrication system fault.

(2) Connect diode test lamp with

high pressure switch and increase

engine speed slowly. When engine

oil pressure reaches 160- 200KPa,

test lamp shall go on. If not on,

high pressure switch probably is

at fault. Further increase engine

speed to 2000r/min, the oil

pressure shall at least reach

200kpa. If not, the lubrication

system is at fault.

If the problem still exists after

lubrication system and pressure

switches are all found normal in

the above inspection, then check

circuit for failure according to

circuit diagram.

Note: low pressure switch

warning light goes on when the

circuit is earthed, so earthed

circuit is the key point when

checking; while high pressure

warning light goes on when the

Chery A15 Maintenance Manual

circuit is open or engine speed

exceeds 2000r/min, therefore

checking for open circuit is of

greatest importance.

circuit earthed.

(1) Check enginge coolant to see

if the temperature is too high or

the level is too low.

(2) If the above is normal, unplug

coolant tank level switch. If

warning light goes out, the level

switch is at fault.

(3) If the warning light keeps on,

plug level switch and unplug

coolant temperature warning

switch. If the warning light goes

out, the coolant temperature

warning switch is at fault; and if

the light keeps on, the circuit is

probably earthed.

circuit problem.

(1) Check brake fluid to see if the

level is too low.

(2) If brake fluid level is normal,

unplug brake fluid level switch. If

warning light goes out, brake fluid

level switch is at fault.

(3) If warning light keeps on,

unplug parking brake switch. If

warning light goes out, parking

brake switch is at fault; and if

warning light still keeps on, the

circuit is earthed somewhere.

Chapter Six: Electric Wiper and Windshield Washer

Section One: Introduction to Wiper/Washer System

Wiper mainly consists of motor assembly, trilink mechanism, swing bar with three

direction ball knots and wiper blade. See figure (Wiper-1) for wiper and figure

(Wiper-2) for motor.

Wiper (Wiper-1)

1-Permanent DC motor
2-Gear worm reducer

3-Wiper motor output shaft

Wiper Motor (Wiper-2)

Wiper motor includes a PM DC small size motor and a gear worm reducer. In order to

ensure that wiper swing bar and wiper blade will stop at the lower edge of windshield

and remain parallel to it after working, an autostop positioning conducting strip is

installed on the back side of reducer worm wheel output shaft, and three contacts

connecting to conducting strip are located on reducer rear cover. They work together,

with the help of contact at zero position of the wiper switch, to provide the autostop

positioning function of wiper.

Washer includes a mini PM DC motor, a centrifugal water pump, nozzles, fluid tank

and water pipe. Motor and water pump together compose a washer motor and water

pump assembly, as shown in the figure (Wiper-6):

1-Water inlet
2-Impeller
3-Pump
4-Water outlet

5-PM DC motor

Washer Motor (Wiper-3)

This assembly is fixed on fluid tank and forms a washer assembly with the tank, as the

figure (Wiper-6) shows. Washer assembly is installed on left wing, and the volume of

fluid tank is 5.lL.
