No.310 Malfunction codes: 00283, 00285, 00290 and 00287
3
The malfunction codes are 00283, 00285, 00290 and 00287
Possible cause
[Description]
The malfunction code will appear if the sensor signal is out
of tolerance when the speed is larger than 20km/h.
[Prompt] The probability is that the weak sensor signal is cause by the
intermittent poor contact or the short of the sensing coil or the harness,
damage of the tooth ring teeth and ultra large of the air gap between the
tooth rings.
z
Intermittent poor contact or short of the
sensing coil or the harness
z
Ultra big or ultra small of the air gap between
the sensor and the tooth ring
z
Damage of the tooth ring teeth
z
Ultra big of the bearing clearance
z
Malfunction of ABS ECU
Is the sensor installation correct?
Inspect the sensor output voltage at
the ABS25 core socket
Inspect each wheel sensor
Inspect the tooth ring of each
wheel sensor
Inspect the wheel bearing
clearance
Inspect the harness between the
sensor and ABS ECU

No.311 Malfunction codes are 00283, 00285, 00290 and 00287
(electric failure)
4
Malfunction code: 00283, 00285, 00290 and 00287 (electric
malfunction)
Possible cause
[Description]
The malfunction code wil appear when there are failures
such as the recognizable open circuit or short circuit existed in the
sensor.
[Prompt] It is likely that the sensor is in poor contact, the coil or the
harness is short, or there is a failure in the sensor signal treatment circuit
in ABS ECU.
z
Connector or coil of the sensor is of open circuit
z
The sensing coil is short
z
The sensor plug, the harness, the earth or the
power is short
z
Treatment circuit of ABS ECU sensor signal is
out of order
Inspect the corresponding sensor
with failure
Remove the ABS ECU plug
Inspect if the resistence value
between the following terminals of
ABS ECU meets the standard
value?
Standard value: 1.0 ~ 1.3 k
Shake the sensor harness and the
joint simultaneously when
measuring the resistance.
MK20 I:
Left front: 4 - 11
Right front: 3 - 18
Left rear: 2 - 10
Right rear: 1 – 17
MK20 I/E:
Left front: 1 - 2
Right front: 19 - 20
Left rear: 5 - 6
Right rear: 22 – 23
Inspect the corresponding
sensor plug
Does the malfunction recur?
Inspect the harness between
the sensor and ABS ECU
Refer to the gist
of the incidental
trouble
maintenance
Inspect if the harness is normal and watch if the failure will recur
Repair the connector
Replace ABS ECU

No.312 Malfunction code: 01044
5
Malfunction code: 01044
Possible cause
[Description]
The malfunction code will appear when the ECU software
code is different from the hardware jumper connection of ABS harness.
z
Error of jumper connection in ABS harness
z
Error of ABS ECU code
No.313 Malfunction code: 00668
6
Malfunction code: 00668
Possible cause
[Description]
The malfunction code will appear when there is no
voltage or over high voltage on the power supply terminal 30.
z
Fuse of ABS system is blown out
z
The battery voltage is over low or over high
z
Connector of ABS harness is damaged
z
ABS ECU is damaged
Check if the joint of ABS harness slip stitch is
conductive
Joint of correct slip: see relative ABS electric wiring
diagram
Use the failure diagnosis instrument to check if the
code of ABS ECU software is correct
Correct value: see relative ABS electric wiring

No.314 Malfunction code: 01130
7
Malfunction code: 01130
Possible cause
[Description]
The malfunction code will appear when ABS is
interfered by the high frequency electromagnetic wave or the
microprocessor regards the input speed signal as false.
z
High frequency electromagnetic
interference
z
The sensor or the sensor harness is
damaged
z
ABS ECU is damaged
Inspect 30A fuse of ABS system
Disconnect the connection between
ABS harness and ECU, turn the
ignition switch to "ON" and measure
the voltage between the following
terminals of ABS harness
Terminals 8 and 9: 9.5 – 16.5V
Terminals 24 and 25: 9.5 - 16.5V
MK20 I:
Terminals 8 and 23: 9.5 –16.5V
