Work procedure

Wipe off with moist, lent-free rag and polish

Do not use scouring agent to prevent scratching the surfaces. Do not allow MB plastic cleaner to come into
contact with textile surfaces (spotting) Do not allow MB plastic cleaner to come into contact with Plexiglas
cover on instrument (danger of tension cracks). Other agents (e.g. cockpit spray) which result in a glossy
surface, are not permissible due to reflections.

MODIFYING CARPET FOR SEAT BELT ATTACHMENT POINT - AN68.20-P-0001-03A

Model 163">

1. Position outer holes of template (1) over center of D-ring Torx fasteners on rear floor cargo compartment.

2. Install T40 Torx bit through each of the template outer holes into the D-ring Torx fasteners to keep

template positioned correctly.

Start at rear template hole, insert Torx bit, stretch out template, then insert Torx bit into front hole.

3. Transfer center hole dimension (2) onto carpet

4. Remove template (1).

5. Remove section (2) of carpet with knife.

To gain access to the seat belt attachment point.

6. Repeat for opposite side.

When working ensure that the seatbelt is correctly installed, operates properly and that damage to the outer

paneling surface is prevented.

1. Glue hole template (2) for seatbelt onto D-pillar paneling (1).

Position edge of template to edge of paneling.

2. Mark dimensions of oblong hole (3) on D-pillar paneling (1).

3. Remove hole template (2).

4. Cut out oblong hole (3) for seatbelt.

5. Debug hole edges with P240 sand paper.

6. Polish hole edges with P600 sand paper.

To avoid possible chafing of the seatbelt, a uniform smooth surface is required.

7. Repeat on opposite side.

Handles

1. Remove clothes hook and accessory hook.

2. Position template (1) to roof paneling.

Fasten template with adhesive tape.

3. Mark points which must be cut out for installing the handle.

4. Remove template (1).

5. Cut out cutouts for handle.

Only on vehicles with safety standard FMVSS201.

6.1 Install shock absorber (5).

Danger of cracks. Carefully pull roof paneling downward and install shock absorber between roof

paneling and roof frame.

The flat side of the shock absorber (5) points in the direction of the roof frame.

7 Install accessory hook (2), clamping strap mount (3) and pivot handle (4).

On vehicles with FMVSS201 install special clamping strap mounts and pivot handles with screws (6)

8 Repeat on opposite side.
