Radiator Fan
Radiator fan does not run at high
speed (but condenser fan runs at
high speed, and both fans run at
low speed).
Check the No. 3 (7.5 A) in the
underdash fuse/relay box, and the
No. 47 (20 A) fuse in the under-
hood fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
Remove the radiator fan relay
from the under-hood relay box C,
and test it (see page
).
Is the relay OK?
Check for an open in the wire:
Measure the voltage between the
No. 3 terminal of the radiator fan
relay 4P socket and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
Check for an open in the wire:
Connect the No. 1 and No. 3 ter-
minals of the radiator fan relay
4P socket with a jumper wire.
Does the radiator fan run?
Check for an open in the wire:
1. Disconnect the jumper wire.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Measure the voltage between
the No. 2 terminal of the radi-
ator fan relay 4P socket and
body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
Repair open in the LT GRN/BLK
wire between the radiator fan
relay and the fan control unit.
Replace the fuse(s), and recheck.
Replace the radiator fan relay.
RADIATOR FAN RELAY 4P SOCKET
Repair open in the wire between
the No. 47 fuse and the radiator
fan relay.
Repair open in the wire between
the radiator fan relay and the
radiator fan.

Condenser Fan
Condenser fan does not run at
high speed (but radiator fan runs
at high speed, and both fans run
at low speed).
Check the No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in
the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
Remove the radiator fan main
relay from the under-hood relay
box A, and test it (see page
).
Is the relay OK?
Check for an open in the wire:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Measure the voltage between
the No. 3 terminal of the radi-
ator fan main relay 5P socket
and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
Is there continuity?
Repair open in the LT GRN/BLK
wire between the radiator fan
main relay and the fan control
unit.
Replace the fuse, and recheck.
Replace the radiator fan main
relay.
RADIATOR FAN MAIN RELAY 5P SOCKET
BLK/YEL
Repair open in the wire between
the No. 3 fuse and the radiator
fan main relay.
Check for an open in the wire
between the radiator fan main
relay and body ground. If the
wire is OK, check for poor ground
atG301.
Check for an open in the wire:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Check for continuity between
the No. 4 terminal of the radi-
ator fan main relay 5P socket
and body ground.

Both Fans Low Speed and Radiator Fan High Speed
Both fans do not run at low speed,
and radiator fan does not run at
high speed (but condenser fan
runs at high speed).
Check for an open in the wire:
1. Disconnect the radiator fan 2P
connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
and the A/C system on to
MAX COOL.
3. Measure the voltage between
the No. 2 terminal and body
ground.

Wire side of female terminals
Is there battery voltage?
Repair open in the wire between
the radiator fan relay, the radia-
tor fan main relay and the radia-
tor fan.
Is there continuity?
Check for an open in the wire
between the radiator fan and
body ground. If the wire is OK,
check for poor ground at G302.
Check for an open in the wire:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Check for continuity between
the No. 1 terminal of the radi-
ator fan 2P connector and
body ground.
Replace the radiator fan motor.

Both Fans Low Speed and Condenser Fan High Speed
Both fans do not run at low
speed, and condenser fan does
not run at high speed (but radia-
tor fan runs at high speed).
Check the No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in the
under-dash fuse/relay box, and the
No. 50 (20 A) fuse in the under-
hood fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
Remove the condenser fan relay
from the under-hood relay box A,
and test it (see page
).
Is the relay OK?
Check for an open in the wire:
Measure the voltage between the
No. 1 terminal of the condenser
fan relay 4P socket and body
ground.
Is there battery voltage?
Check the condenser fan:
Connect the No. 1 and No. 3 ter-
minals of the condenser fan relay
4P socket with a jumper wire.
