Power Mirror Switch:
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Check for voltage between the
power mirror switch connector A6
and A7 terminals.
Is there battery voltage?
NO
• Open or short in the YEL/BLK
wire
• Open in the BLK wire
• Faulty power mirror switch
Power Mirror Switch:
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 12P connector A5
and A12 terminals with the mirror
switch pressed toward UP.
• Open or short in the RED/WHT
wire
• Faulty power mirror switch
NO
Is there battery voltage?
YES
Power Mirror Switch (Right Mir-
ror):
1. Move the selector switch to
RIGHT.
2. Check for voltage between the
mirror control unit 12P con-
nector A3 and A12 terminals
with the mirror switch pressed
toward RIGHT.
• Open or short in the BLU/GRN
wire
• Faulty power mirror switch
NO
Is there battery voltage?
YES
Power Mirror Switch (Right Mir-
ror):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 12P connector A4
and A12 terminals with the mirror
switch pressed toward LEFT or
DOWN.
Is there battery voltage?
• Open or short in the BLU/ORN
wire
• Faulty power mirror switch
YES
NO
Power Mirror Switch (Left Mirror):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 12P connector A10
and A12 terminals with the mirror
switch pressed toward LEFT or
DOWN.
YES
NO
Is there battery voltage?
• Open or short in the YEL wire
• Faulty power mirror switch

Is there battery voltage?
NO
• Open or short in the BLU wire
• Faulty power mirror switch
YES
Power Mirror Actuator (Right Mir-
ror):
NOTE: All mirror control unit con-
nectors must be disconnected.
1. Disconnect the mirror control
unit 12P and 16P connectors.
2. Connect the mirror control
unit 12P connector A11 termi-
nal to the mirror control unit
16P connector B3 terminal.
3. Connect the mirror control unit
16P connector B4 or [B12] ter-
minal to ground.
NOTE: All connector views are from wire side
of female terminals.

• Open or short in the BRN, YEL or
[BLU] wires
• Faulty right mirror actuator
Does the right mirror swing left

Power Mirror Actuator (Left Mir-
ror):
NOTE: All mirror control unit con-
nectors must be disconnected.
1. Connect the mirror control unit
12P connector A11 terminal to
the mirror control unit 16P con-
nector B11 terminal.
2. Connect the mirror control unit
16P connector B2 or [B10] ter-
minal to ground.
Does the left mirror swing
left or [tilt down]?
• Open or short in the BRN, YEL or
[BLU] wires
• Faulty left mirror actuator

Power Mirror Position Sensor
(Common):
1. Connect the all mirror control
unit connectors.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Check for voltage between the
mirror control unit 16P connec-
tor B8 and B16 terminals.
• Open or short in the RED/BLK or
BRN/WHT wires
• Faulty power mirror position
sensor
• Faulty mirror control unit
NO
Is there 5 V ?
YES

Substitute a known-good mirror
control unit, and recheck. If the
systems now work OK, replace
the original mirror control unit.
• Open or short in the GRY or
BRN/WHT wires
• Faulty left power mirror posi-
tion sensor
• Faulty mirror control unit
NO
Are voltages as specified?
YES
Left Power Mirror Position Sen-
sor (Vertical):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 16P connector B14
and B16 terminals. As the mirror
tilts from up to down, the voltage
should change from about 1 V to
3V.
YES
Are voltages as specified?
NO
• Open or short in the GRN/WHT
or BRN/WHT wires
• Faulty left power mirror posi-
tion sensor
• Faulty mirror control unit
Left Power Mirror Position Sen-
sor (Horizontal):
Check for voltage between the
mirror control unit 16P connector
B6 and B16 terminals. As the mir-
ror swings from left to right, the
voltage should change from
about 3 V to 1 V.
YES
Are voltages as specified?
NO
• Open or short in the GRY or
BRN/WHT wires
• Faulty right power mirror posi-
tion sensor
• Faulty mirror control unit
Right Power Mirror Position Sen-
sor (Vertical):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 16P connector B15
and B16 terminals. As the mirror
tilts up to down, the voltage
should change from about 1 V to 3
V.
YES
Are voltages as specified?
• Open or short in the GRN or
BRN/WHT wires
• Faulty right power mirror posi-
tion sensor
• Faulty mirror control unit
NO
Right Power Mirror Position Sen-
sor (Horizontal):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 16P connector B7
and B16 terminals. As the mirror
swings from right to left, the volt-
age should change from about
3 V t o 1 V.
NOTE: All connector views are from wire side
of female terminals.

MEMO Button:
Check for voltage between the col-
umn control unit 16P connector B8
and B16 terminals. There should
be 1 V or less with the MEMO but-
ton pushed and 5 V or more with
the MEMO button released.
NOTE: All connector views are from wire side
of female terminals.
COLUMN CONTROL UNIT
16P CONNECTOR "B"
• Open or short in the YEL/WHT or
YEL/BLU wires
• Faulty driving position memory
switch
NO
Are voltages as specified?
YES
Indicator 1:
1. Disconnect the column con-
trol unit 12P connector "A".
2. Attach the column control unit
12P connector A3 terminal (har-
ness side) to ground.
Does indicator 1 come on?
NO
• Open or short in the WHT/YEL or
RED/GRN wires
• Faulty indicator 1 (LED)
• Faulty driving position memory
switch
YES
Indicator 2:
Attach the column control unit 12P
connector A9 terminal (harness
side) to ground.
• Open or short in the WHT/YEL or
RED wires
• Faulty indicator 2 (LED)
• Faulty driving position memory
switch
Does indicator 2 come on?
NO
YES
Substitute a known-good column
control unit, and recheck. If the
systems now work OK, replace
the original column control unit.
