Inspection procedure C-5: One of the door switch signals is not received.

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
Input signals from the door switches are used to
operate the functions below. If the signal is abnormal,
these functions will not work normally.

• Lamp reminder function

• Door ajar warning buzzer function

• Headlamp automatic-shutdown function

• Room lamps

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the door switch (front: RH)

• Malfunction of the door switch (front: LH)

• Malfunction of the door switch (rear: RH) <Double

cab>

• Malfunction of the door switch (rear: LH) <Double

cab>

• Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the installation condition.
Check the installation state to the body of the door
switches that do not receive signals.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 2.

NO :

Correct the installation condition.

STEP 2. Connector check: D-01 <LHD> or D-13
<RHD> door switch (front: RH) connector, D-13
<LHD> or D-01 <RHD> door switch (front: LH)
connector, D-05 door switch (rear: RH)
connector, D-12 door switch (rear: LH) connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 3.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check of the door switches that do not
receive signals.
Refer to GROUP 42

− Door .

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 4.

NO :

Replace the door switch.

STEP 4. Connector check: C-219 ETACS-ECU
connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 5.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the following wiring harness.

Check the wiring harness for open circuit between

the following connectors:

• Wiring harness from C-219 ETACS-ECU connec-

tor terminal No.63 to D-01 <LHD> or D-13 <
RHD> door switch (front: RH) connector terminal
No.2.

• Wiring harness from C-219 ETACS-ECU connec-

tor terminal No.51 to D-13 <LHD> or D-01
<RHD> door switch (front: LH) connector terminal
No.2.

• Wiring harness from C-219 ETACS-ECU connec-

tor terminal No.61 to D-12 door switch (rear: LH)
connector terminal No.2.

• Wiring harness from C-219 ETACS-ECU connec-

tor terminal No.61 to D-05 door switch (rear:
RH)connector terminal No.2.

NOTE:

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-
diate connector C-15, and repair if necessary.

• Check the input line for open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 6.

NO :

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. M.U.T.-III data list
Check the input signals to the door switch.

• Open any door.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

The trouble can be an intermittent

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00

NO :

Replace the ETACS-ECU and register the
ID codes (Refer to

P.54A-39

).

Inspection Procedure C-6: The seat belt switch signal is not received.

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.

Input signal from the seat belt switch is used to oper-
ate the functions below. If the signal is abnormal,
these functions will not work normally.

• Seat belt warning buzzer function

• Seat belt indicator
