Symptom:
DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses an over current condition on the Driver Door
Unlatch Driver circuit for over 125 milliseconds during an unlatch action.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR LATCH MOTOR - SHORT TO GROUND

APPLICABILITY

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTC’s.
Try to open and close the driver door several times while monitoring the DRBIII
t.
Does the DRBIII
t display DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORTED TO
GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Disconnect the Driver Door Latch Motor connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Door Unlatch Driver wire for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Door Latch Motor.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a driver exterior door handle switch input on the
Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Sense circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED
DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT

NOTE: When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the
arming process.
With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTC’s.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the key and operate the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch several times
while monitoring the DRBIII
t.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the DRBIII
t display DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary.
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch connector.
With the DRBIII
t in Sensors, read the DRV DOOR ENTRY voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Disconnect the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch connector.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C4 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch
Sense circuit in the BCM C4 connector.
Is the resistance below 10000.0 (10K) ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver External Door Handle Switch Sense circuit for
a short to ground
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a driver interior door handle switch input on the
Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED
