Symptom:
DRIVER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage on the driver door switch mux circuit below
0.7 volts for over 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX WIRE SHORT TO THE DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN.

APPLICABILITY

NOTE: When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the
arming process.
With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTC’s.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the key and operate all the driver door switches several times while
monitoring the DRBIII
t.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the DRBIII
t display DRIVER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit in
the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 300.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Measure the resistance between the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the Driver
Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 4
No
→ Go To 7

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch connector.
Measure the resistance between the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the Driver
Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 5
No
→ Replace the Driver Door Lock Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Disconnect the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
Measure the resistance between the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the Driver
Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 6
No
→ Replace the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
All
Repair
Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux wire for a short to the Driver
Door Switch Return wire.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
All
Repair
Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

When Monitored and Set Condition:
DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a lock or unlock input on the Driver Door Switch
Mux circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORTED
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX SHORTED TO THE DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED

No
→ Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary.
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch connector.
With the DRBIII
t in Sensors, read the DRV DOOR ENTRY voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?
All
No
→ Go To 3
Yes
→ Replace the Driver Door Lock Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit in
the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 10000.0 (10K) ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to
ground
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 4

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Measure the resistance between Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the Driver Door
Switch Return circuit in the BCM C3 and C2 connectors.
Is the resistance below 10000.0 (10K) ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to the
Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
