SILL PANEL - EXPORT
REMOVAL
(1) Remove the side repeater lamp (Refer to 8 -
ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/RE-
PEATER LAMP - REMOVAL).
(2) Remove the three screws and remove the door
hinge cover (Fig. 19).
(3) Remove the screws attaching the fender grille
to the fender and the sill.
(4) Remove the seven lower sill screws (Fig. 20).
(5) Remove the three front wheelhouse splash
shield screws.
(6) Remove the rear screw into the frame near the
quarter panel.
(7) Remove the screws into the door surround
panel (Fig. 21).
(8) Loosen the sill to fender support nuts.
(9) Remove the sill.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position the sill onto the vehicle.
(2) Tighten the sill to fender support nuts.
(3) Install the screws into the door surround panel.
(4) Install the rear screw into the frame near the
quarter panel.
(5) Install the three front wheelhouse splash shield
screws.
(6) Install the seven lower sill screws.
(7) Install the fender grille and install the upper
screw attaching the grille to the fender.
(8) Install the lower grille screw at the sill.
(9) Install the door hinge cover and install the
three screws to the fender.

(10) Install the side repeater lamp (Refer to 8 -
ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/RE-
PEATER LAMP - INSTALLATION).

SIDE VIEW MIRROR
REMOVAL
(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Remove four bolts to battery compartment
cover and remove cover.
(3) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable.
(4) Remove the access panel at the front of door.
(Fig. 22)
(5) Remove the three mirror nuts. (Fig. 23)
(6) Remove the mirror from the door and discon-
nect the electrical connector.
INSTALLATION
(1) Connect the electrical connector and position
the mirror onto the door.
(2) Install the nuts and tighten to 7 N·m (65 in.
lbs.).
(3) Install the access panel.

MIRROR
REMOVAL
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR EYE AND HAND PRO-
TECTION WHEN SERVICING THE MIRROR ASSEM-
BLY. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE WARNINGS
MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY FROM BRO-
KEN GLASS.
(1) Carefully pull/pry the broken glass holder from
the mirror assembly.
(2) Disconnect the heated mirror electrical connec-
tors from the terminals on the mirror glass holder, if
equipped.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: It is important to make sure the motor is
square to the glass holder (attaching fingers) prior
to glass holder attachment, otherwise the glass
holder could be installed incorrectly causing poor
retention and possible repeat failure.
(1) Position the new mirror glass holder to the
mirror assembly.
NOTE: Position the mirror glass holder so that the
moisture drain hole on the mirror glass holder
assembly is facing downward.
(2) Align the mirror glass holder’s attaching fin-
gers to the mirror motor housing.
NOTE: Ensure that the protective rubber cover of
the mirror motor housing is positioned correctly
around the bottom of the fingers area.
(3) Using one hand, firmly press the mirror glass
holder assembly into place while at the same time
supporting the housing assembly from the backside
with the other hand.

NOTE: Pressure must be applied equally over the
center portion of the mirror to engage the mirror
glass holder’s attaching fingers to the correspond-
ing fingers on the housing assembly. One or more
clicks may be heard when finger engagement takes
place.
(4) Verify retention of the mirror glass holder
assembly by gently pulling outward on the mirror
glass holder.
TRUNK PAN
REMOVAL
(1) Remove the rear fascia. (Refer to 13 - FRAME
&
BUMPERS/BUMPERS/REAR
FASCIA
-
REMOVAL)
(2) Remove the quarter panels. (Refer to 23 -
BODY/EXTERIOR/REAR
QUARTER
PANEL
-
REMOVAL)
(3) Remove the sport hoop mounting brackets.
(Refer to 23 - BODY/INTERIOR/SPORT HOOP -
REMOVAL)
(4) Remove the convertible top assembly. (Refer to
23 - BODY/CONVERTIBLE TOP/FOLDING TOP
ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL)
(5) Remove the three nuts securing the trunk pan
to the front support bracket. (Fig. 24)
(6) Remove the two bolts to either side of the fuel
pump cover. (Fig. 25)
(7) Remove the two bolts from inside the trunk
area.
(8) Remove the two outside bolts above the wheel-
house. (Fig. 26)
(9) Remove the bracket bolts from the inside of the
wheelhouse.
(10) Remove the trunk pan.
INSTALLATION
(1) Replace any necessary trunk pan seals. (Refer
to 23 - BODY/BODY STRUCTURE/SEALER LOCA-
TIONS - SPECIFICATIONS)
(2) Install the trunk pan.
(3) Install the bracket bolts inside the wheelhouse
and tighten to 6 N·m (55 in. lbs.).
(4) Install the two outside bolts and washers above
the wheelhouse and tighten to 6 N·m (55 in. lbs.).
(5) Install the two bolts and washers inside the
trunk area and tighten to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.).
(6) Install the two bolts and washers to either side
of the fuel pump cover and tighten to 9 N·m (80 in.
lbs.).
(7) Install the three nuts securing the trunk pan
to the front support bracket and tighten to 12 N·m (9
ft. lbs.).
(8) Install the convertible top assembly. (Refer to
23 - BODY/CONVERTIBLE TOP/FOLDING TOP
ASSEMBLY - INSTALLATION)
(9) Install the sport hoop mounting brackets.
(Refer to 23 - BODY/INTERIOR/SPORT HOOP -
INSTALLATION)
(10) Install the quarter panels. (Refer to 23 -
BODY/EXTERIOR/REAR
QUARTER
PANEL

INSTALLATION)
(11) Install the rear fascia. (Refer to 13 - FRAME
& BUMPERS/BUMPERS/REAR FASCIA - INSTAL-
LATION)
