Symptom:
PASSENGER WINDOW SWITCH STUCK DOWN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
PASSENGER WINDOW SWITCH STUCK DOWN
When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is in the Run or Accessory position.
Set Condition:
When the switch input is active for over 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
SWITCH STUCK
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display PASSENGER WINDOW SWITCH STUCK DOWN?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this
time. Operate the switch several times to ensure it does not stick.
If the switch ever sticks, replace it.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No
→ The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this

When Monitored and Set Condition:
PASSENGER WINDOW UP SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is in the Run or Accessory position and the
passenger window up switch is actuated..
Set Condition:
When the BCM turns on the Passenger Window Up Relay Control circuit
and detects a current draw over 250 ma. for over 125 milliseconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
RELAY SHORTED
PASSENGER WINDOW UP RELAY CONTROL WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
BODY CONTROL MODULE - PASSENGER WINDOW UP RELAY CONTROL SHORTED
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Try to operate the Passenger Window Motor several times.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display PASSENGER WINDOW UP SHORTED TO GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Remove the Passenger Window Up Relay.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Press the Passenger Window Switch several times.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display PASSENGER WINDOW UP SHORTED TO GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Replace the Window Relay.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

APPLICABILITY

Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Passenger Window Up Relay.
Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Passenger Window Up Relay
Control circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Passenger Window Up Relay Control circuit for a short
to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
